Trav you have good takes most of the time, but when it comes to fighters you like i.e Yarde, you need to just be honest. If we’re being honest his career has been VERY lacklustre and the dudes about to have a trilogy with LYNDON ARTHUR… Morrell outboxes Yarde and maybe even stops him late. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Buatsi is chasing a world title first, Yard fight is secondary for him. But what I think will happen is; Bertebiev v Bivol 2 winner will fight Benavidez v Morell winner. At that point the belts would have been fragmented. Leaving Buatsi & Yarde to fight for a vacant world title, later in the year. Providing they both come through their respective upcoming fights.

I like both buatsi and yarde so no particular allegiance to either here but... Travis... you're crippled by bredrin bias on this one 😂 them glasses are defo yarde tinted. From what i can see the timeline is simple and not even that deep :- the fight was going to happen, the uncle frank situation stopped yarde from being able to fight so buatsi moves on to fight hutchinson. Fair. Yarde has his tick over fight and is ready for buatsi but buatsi already has bigger plans that move towards a title shot. Again, fair. So now we're here. Yarde fighting lyndon again and nobody wants to see it. Buatsi vs smith, good fight. In fairness to buatsi he has said explicitly that a title shot is his main goal, and to top it off he has previously been criticized for sluggish career progression so you can't fault him for taking a more direct route to a title shot. Clearly getting involved riyadh season and looking good is the fastest route to that. It's yardes side that has come out worse in this and its no fault of buatsi's side. Anyways I'm just hoping for the best case scenario (which has a fair probability) - a belt gets dropped after the undisputed clash, buatsi beats smith, yarde beats arthur then they both fight for the vacant title. Everybody is happy... except for trav or KG depending on who loses 😂😂

Great show. On the Buatsi and Yarde topic, I find myself unusually agreeing with KG. Out of the two of you it's usually Travis' takes I often agree with, and often find myself shaking my head at many of KG's, but not today, not on this. Yarde rocked the boat, and it's his rocking of the boat that delayed this fight. I get that he may have had very good reason to take the course of action he has, but nonetheless, it's his choices that have put this fight where it is. Buatsi has undoubtedly been the one ducking big fights previously, wanting repeated fights at the same level and avoiding title opportunities for big paydays, but if we look at 2024 onwards, the picture looks different. Buatsi last year fought Azeez, Hutchinson and starts this year with a Callum Smith fight......that is a solid 3 fight run leading into a world title shot.......and along that journey was ready, willing and waiting to fight Yarde. In contrast, that same period for Yarde has been Marko Nikolic, Ralf Vilcans and starting this year with a Lyndon Arthur trilogy........that leads to where......and all while declining the Buatsi fight to spend time fighting his promoter. Those are wildly different journeys the last 12-15 months. Why should Buatsi hit pause for a domestic dust up, when he can go fight for a title, or pick up a vacant title. Yarde has had two failed title attempts, so may prefer a big titleless domestic clash, given his last 15 months........but Buatsi's last 15 months have been leading him up to a little more. I think Travis is blinded by his Yarde bias on this one. Yarde and his team did this to themselves.
