@Shaulaise76 күн бұрын
Depends on what console / PC you'll be playing on and what instrument hardware you'd be using. For consoles: Rock Band 3 Deluxe is available on modded Xbox 360s (RGH / JTAG) and Modded PS3s (CFW / HEN). (You CAN run it on Wii, but please don't. It's a terrible experience.) For PC: The RPCS3 emulator runs RB3 really well but that can depend on the specs of the computer it's being played on. The way you connect the drums to the game is also different depending on console / PC. For PS3 / Xbox 360: There''s an adapter called the Roll Limitless that works with either console. Your drum module needs to have USBMidi out OR 5 Pin Midi out. And the drum module MUST be able to adjust the midi numbers on specific pads. There are older adapters called the Midi Pro Adapters. But they've been out of production for so long that they're next to impossible to find for cheap. There is a way to convert a Wii version to work with Playstations tho. For PC: The module just needs to support USBMidi out and changing Midi numbers. Midi Drum support is built into the newest builds of RPCS3. The whole process is kinda complicated and bit overwhelming so let me know if you have questions. You can also join the MiloHax discord server for additional troubleshooting. The link is on the Rock Band 3 Deluxe website!

Thank you! So long as your drum module has USB Midi support you're good to play Rock Band 3 on the RPCS3 emulator. It should be plug and play for the newest versions. But if the performance is bad you can always play clone hero. Also going to recommend joining the MiloHax discord for more accurate troubleshooting and guides. The link should be on the Rock Band 3 Deluxe website!

Apologies because I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. If you mean that my kit is mapped to be the same as the stock drums, then yes (Sort of). Snare is red, first tom is yellow, second tom is blue, third tom is green. Cymbals are a little weird. My hi-hat and left crash are yellow, my middle crash and ride are blue, and my right crash is green.

@Shaulaise7 probably it's my fault. My English isn't so good 😅 In the game, the thin are the drums, and the circles are the plates. Sorry for the dumb question hahaha

It's fine! Not dumb at all. Yes, the square notes are for the white drums and the round notes are for the black cymbals. The really thin long orange notes are the kick drum.

@@Shaulaise7 does it perfect emulates how to play it for real on drums?
@Shaulaise7Ай бұрын
@@shadowsrants6663 It's not perfect but it's awfully close. The game can only represent 5 drums and 3 cymbals. So for example in this song, the round yellow notes are normally the closed hi-hat, but they are also the left crash when they are played in combination with the round green notes. So if you know how to read them in context it can be extremely accurate.

Forewarning for wall of text and also recommending you join the Milohax discord for more info. Link on their website. rb3dx.neocities.org/ This is Rock Band 3 (Deluxe) being played on a PlayStation 3 using a Roland TD-17KVX E-drum kit and using the Mad Catz Midi Pro Adapter (MPA) to connect it to the console. Rock Band 3 is available on the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. But it is also possible to play it on PC with the RPCS3 emulator. And we usually try and steer people towards either Xbox 360 or RPCS3, as the game works best on those systems. Rock Band 3 Deluxe (RB3DX) is a fan made mod by Milohax that significantly upgrades the user experience in more ways than I can list here. The only catch is that RB3DX on console requires the console itself to be modded. So a CFW / HEN PS3, RGH / JTAG Xbox 360 or a modded Wii (I'm not super informed on the Wii modding process, I just know the game runs like trash on Wii. So avoid it if you can) But if you are using RPCS3 than none of that matters and you can just load the mod very easily by default. For the drum kit and interface you can use the official Midi Pro Adapter if you can somehow get your hands on one for cheap. But it's pretty unlikely as they sell for quite a bit now. You can use something else called the Roll Limitless, which mirrors all of the same functions of the midi pro adapter (as well as fixing several bugs the originals had) and can be had for about $100. If you're using an MPA you can only use E-drum modules that have 5 pin MIDI out. However if you're using a Roll Limitless the kits module only needs to support MIDI USB. (But it can also use 5 pin MIDI) And once again, if you're playing on RPCS3 you don't need either adapter and the emulator now fully supports USB MIDI by default! The console is connected to an HDMI splitter where one end goes to my monitor and the other goes to my capture card (EVGA XR1 Lite). I can then capture the game in OBS and use a filter to select only the highway and the score. And then overlay that on my camera shot. It's all pretty complicated and I'm not great at explaining the process but if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

@@Shaulaise7 Fantastic reply and summary. This is super helpful and I'm sure anyone else who comes across this will find it useful. I almost have the exact same setup as you, but for some reason I get major slowdowns running RB3 on RPCS3, even with an RTX 3070 and a 3700X, making it almost unplayable at times. You are playing on an actual CFW PS3? For anyone who comes across this, yes, the Wii version does run like trash, even with Dolphin and especially on real hardware. Don't do it. I am also using the official MIDI Pro Adapter, but I guess the Roll Limitless is what I need since the system does not seem to be able to process notes fast enough from my TD-17. Are you not experiencing this with your Midi Pro Adapter? Those are the two major problems I am having with my setup. Thanks for much for the detailed reply to, I really appreciate it!
@Shaulaise7Ай бұрын
@@SaaifKhan888 Well I'm running a HEN PS3, because the PS3 I have can't use CFW. But yeah basically. With specs like that you shouldn't be seeing slowdowns basically at all, especially with a processor with AVX-512 support. I would check your settings against the Milohax guide here. hmxmilohax.github.io/rb3-pc/english/intro/ The MPA doesn't have an input limit on rb3 so that one I'm less sure about. Is the dial turned up? Mine is basically at maximum. But again, newest versions of RPCS3 should have built in MIDI support, so you wouldn't need either the MPA or Roll Limitless. Just a USB cable from the module.

I'm using the official PS3 Midi Pro adapter. But those are essentially prohibitively expensive at this point. However you can buy the Wii version which is a lot cheaper and pull out a jumper and it just becomes a ps3 adapter. Or, there's a guy making a custom adapter called the Roll Limitless, which can be used on PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the newest Xbox series. It's pretty rad but might take a while to ship because it's a one man operation and he's got a lot of orders. OR you can play on the RPCS3 emulator. Which doesn't require any adapters as far as I know. Just the USB out from the drum module.

@MrEliaaaan DX requires you to have a USA copy of rock band 3 to begin with, as it it's just a mod not the complete game. However as long as you're running a modded PS3 / 360 or using rpcs3 there are theoretical alternatives to buying a physical copy. Like putting bit . ly before ArbysHasTheMeats In your browsers address bar. But ofc I am not responsible for what you may find there, and in fact completely disavow doing so. If you want more info / troubleshooting you should join the Milohax discord. The link should be on the RB3Dx website.
