I noticed that the Nkanu people of Enugu State are good at leadership. They govern well. The history is there. The man here, Sen. Jim Nwobodo was governor of the old Anambra State from 1979 to 1983. He's an Nkanu man of Enugu South LGA of Enugu State. A good chunk of his projects in the old Abakaliki axis of the old Anambra State now in Ebonyi State still stand effective till today. His projects have outlived many projects of modern day administrations. I learnt that the Abakaliki axis gave him overwhelming votes in 1979. He touched all the places in the Abakaliki bloc of the old Anambra State with projects. I don't know how to start listing them. They're many. This was when leaders had the interest of their subjects and society at heart, not now that most of them are criminals urged on by unfortunate and lazy sets of elders and youths. Sen. Jim Nwobodo performed well. He's an Nkanu man. Sen. Dr Chimaroke Nnamani was governor of Enugu State from 1999-2007. He's from Agbani, Nkanu West LGA. He's an Nkanu man. Though brutal, but performed creditably. The current governor of Enugu, Barr Peter Mbah is doing wonders without a media team. He's from Nkanu East LGA. He's an Nkanu man. I don't know how well their lawmakers perform, but I'm pleased with the performance of Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, member of the House of Representatives for Nkanu East & West constituency. No wonder he escaped the electoral whirlwind the Labour Party came with in Enugu State in 2023. He's the only PDP House of Representatives member in Enugu that won House of Reps election. Others won in the LP, save for the court verdict favouring Dr Sir Anayo Onwuegbu, KSC of the PDP for Awgu/Aninri/Ojiriver constituency and Engr Osita Ngwu who won Senate seat for Enugu West district on the day of election. Nkanu East Nkanu West Enugu South Enugu North Enugu East LGAs belong to the Nkanu clan. Though a part of Enugu North LGA is Ngwo where Amb. Bianca Onoh is from, and which originally is Udi. The current chairman of Enugu North, Hon. Barr Ibenaku Onoh, PhD is my friend but from the Ngwo axis. That's by the way. In summary, I'm thinking that Nkanu clan is good in producing performing politicians like the Agbaja (Udi & Ezeagu LGAs).
