Thanks for this awesome no frills guide through. It's helping me fire back at the UNCONSTITUTIONAL punks in the Federal Courts - Phoenix Division. Many judges are some real soap box power trippin' hypocrites. We need to get rid of their 'holier than thou' robes as well. Just a thought. Thx again!

Yes, there should be sound, I was just looking for a properly filled out Word Doc that I could fill in my own things with. But it's true -- Like it's that hard to get a law degree...you don't even need a dissertation, you just have to pass the bar -- some dumbass kid passed the bar in Louisiana 50 years ago when he was 18. Oh and anyone who is saying "great video"...that's code for...I have no idea what you did because you suck, but please clarify this... Hell If I made a video like this I'd get fired. Oh and I looked up Jeff Bennion...your website is "abovethelaw.com?" Um ok...sure why not.

...there's already a Pleadings template in Word. Just search Legal Pleading Paper when you open a new document. Takes seconds.

Is there audio with this? Like other viewers, I'm not getting it even though I'm getting audio on other KZbin videos. The words are too small for me to see, so I feel like I'm missing a big opportunity. I don't have Word and am not in the legal profession. I was thinking about getting Microsoft Office just to assist in preparing a Petition for a Writ of Administrative Mandamus because I keep hearing about Word's "legal wizard" capacity, and I can't even find any legal templates on Microsoft's sample or pages of templates. Is Word worth getting? I'm running out of time and am afraid I'm going to have to go into cut-and-paste mode and do ridiculous things that won't quite come close to the Rules of Court. I don't even know if Word can automatically be set up to do a list of citations and authorities. What should I do to actually see the video you took the time to make? Thank you.

+CARLPERU As long as the numbers on the left side of the page and the text in the body have the same spacing options, they will line up. So, go into the header and footer and select the numbers along the side. Go to spacing options and see what those options are. I always choose 0 before, 0 after, no extra spaces between paragraphs, and exactly 24 pt font. Go to 5:39 in the video to see what options I'm talking about. Then, go into the text of the document and select the text and choose the exact same options for the body text. The only other thing you would need to do is make sure the text box with the numbers lines up with the numbers on the document. You can see that I drag the top of the box with the numbers up to the 1" line at about 2:30 in the video. On the first page, under the caption box, type your first line of text, and drag the bottom of the caption box up or down. This will push or pull your text. Use that to get that first line to line up. See about 7:40 in the video.

Hi! Thank you! Very helpful! May I ask.you a question? If you have to work with a pleading that someone else created and you don't know which word processing software they used, How do you add your law firm's name in the left margin? When I create the pleading from scratch, I only need to double click and I can type straight away. But , because it is not something I created, my software (WORD 2010) is not letting me. Is there a way to get around this? I consider myself an expert in Word, but this has stumped me. Thank you in advance if you can reply!

+jellybeanz The left margin info such as the lines and the numbers are actually created in the header and footer. Everyone thinks of header and footer as being in the top and bottom of the page, but if you past something into the side of the page while in header and footer mode, it will become part of the header or footer. To put a firm logo, I would go into to the header, create a text box, paste the logo into the text box, move the text box to the left side of the page while still in the mode to edit the header and footer, then rotate the text box if you want and delete the border if you want.
