I am really interested in your bass programming on the simple picking parts. Your even notes(likely the upward picking motion in mind) are much lower than I thought. It sounds great, but can I ask how was your idea on tweaking that way? Some details: The moment is in tip 2, 3:35 area where you show the realistic one. While writing my bass parts for this bass' demo I programmed picking up and didn't tweak too much, having the idea of sampling in mind. Up picking in the same velocity(because of physics) already sounded natural, and I did double humanization(-+8 randomization and humanize knob on human-bassist area). I also programmed every single note articulation, whether is up or down picking and which technique is used. I don't have a section where bass plays single notes for some time, so I am provide a midi to you(yet) :D
@ArsafesProductionsАй бұрын
My basic idea was that the upward motion at 127 is still a bit too hard , cause when you play with a pick your normal upward motion is much much softer than the downward one (esp if you consider a more natural approach to playing, not just trying to nail every singe note). So i just found the velocity that to my ears sounded the closest to a real life scenario haha

Ah, finally a tutorial that actually teaches you something rather than just showing off a finished mix without much explanation. This was actually very helpful since i personally find Toontrack-samples to lack power in hits and i have a hard time getting them to sit the way i want in the mix. Recently got into the GGD world, and although this might not correlate to your channel's content, would it be possible for you to do a tutorial on an entire kit mix? Not to sound like an absolute copycat here but i'm trying SO hard to achieve drum tones as close to " Samudra " as possible, and i'd DIE for an explanation on that! 😂

I'm really against the recent trend of keeping the audio interface gain low, I'd say keep it reasonable, just so that it doesnt clip, and compensate with the ampsim input gain if you need to 🙏
