Was the number of guests at capacity or what would you say ?
@DigitalRoamadsDR
@DigitalRoamadsDR Күн бұрын
Yes,on this cruise it was pretty close. However, on a repositioning there are very few kids or very few people staying with 3-4 per cabin -- mostly 2 (or solo) - so while most cabins were likely full, it actually is ends up being well below max capacity for these reasons. Hope that helps and thanks for commenting.

Looking at our first Azamara cruise. Been on quite a few cruises ranging from larger Princess and P&O ships (Royal Class) and smaller, older ships with 1800 passengers. At over 70 we do not need climbing walls, flow riders, roller coasters etc. We like to be comfortable with decent food, good staff and enjoy the ports. We cruise a lot with Marella in UK whose ships are older (exc RCI and Celebrity - the type of ship people bemoan losing). They are all inclusive (no gratuities) - we hate nickel and diming and great service. Your video is making our minds up to try Azamara

@@DigitalRoamadsDR Your program is great! I have created shore excursions for each port of call on our upcoming Azamara New Zealand cruise. I really like having the option to edit each of my shore excursion requests, after comparing them with shore excursions offered by the cruise line and those advertised on TripAdvisor. We plan to use our OBC to take some Azamara excursions but your program will save us well over $2,000 by doing some excursions on our own, which were created by your program. Thank you very much! 😊

Thank you so much for developing your shore excursion program using ChatGPT. I just set up a free account and began using your program and it is extremely helpful. We are cruising on Azamara in NZ in January and i would love to save money and do some shore excursions on our own. After the program creates a shore excursion you really like, how do you save it and in what format? After you save it, how do you use it - do you print it? Thanks a bunch for your help. 😊

Great information! I like the info graphics on the screen - it’s useful to be able to see it and read it to lock it into the brain but honestly, I prefer when you stay visible using the Picture in Picture idea vs audio ‘behind’ the graphic. Just a suggestion of course…who am I….just some random commenter on YT. 🤣 Oh and I wanted to add that like you, I try never to book non-refundable because of the big downside if you have to adjust itineraries. And like you #2, I have stopped booking Airbnb because there’s no quality control or accountability!! You book a place because it has GREAT photos and reviews and then get there and find out it’s not the Four Seasons but the Four Horsemen of the apocalypse and there’s no recourse…grrrrr! 🤦‍♀️

Thank you so much.This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanna start cruising.And I am not able to retire because I'm still paying off old medical bills and student loans. So this past May, when I turned 75 I called Vacations to Go two weeks before my birthday and said, I need a cruise in two weeks and they got me on the MSC for $610 for 7 days solo, even upgraded me from interior to balcony.. not sure if that was a really great deal (haven't cruised in 45 years) but it was a good deal for me. I took the train from Baltimore to Brooklyn and caught the cruise from there. I'll be traveling solo all the time, so it's gonna be really important for me to try to save money. So i'm hoping to be able to watch different ships movements and try to book a couple weeks before they leave and see if I can get a good deal even though I'm solo. Thank you for the tips!

Can you please let me know how about small ship at open sea, Do you feel more rocking compare to bigger ship?
@DigitalRoamadsDR
@DigitalRoamadsDR 8 күн бұрын
Short answer is definitely yes. While we have and you can have movement even on a large ship, it is much more likely on a small one. If you are on a smaller ship we always advise having a cabin midship and lower in the boat. Stay away from the top floors for your cabin. I always take chewable meclizine, one per day and it gets me through most anything even though I'm sensitive to the movement.

In the past it was pretty awful. I could tell you some internet hell stories. Since we work at sea it's quite important to us. We've been cruising so long that the shift to Starlink has been transformational. I would look for Starlink - then you know you'll have at least good internet. Some cruise lines slow it down. Azamara is an example - it was very good but we've had the same system on other ships and it's been faster. I'd say the fastest consistent speeds we had was Virgin Voyages. Just in our experience. Royal was good as well.

Thank you for this great information. My fiancée is from Brisbane and we're getting married sometime this fall. We will be traveling back and forth to Australia at least a couple times a year and I thought a repositioning cruise would be a wonderful way to travel. Since a first class airline ticket costs a minimum of $8,000, for 30 yours of torture, why not spend an equal amount on 30 days of bliss. We'll be looking at some of the offerings and planning our next cruise.

Sounds like a fantastic idea. If you can go slow why not? You will arrive well rested, well fed and have plenty of great memories along the way. I'd suggest selecting a ship with plenty to do and multiple choices for food this way it stays interesting on a longer voyage (and will be more stable in the seas). Have fun!

@DigitalRoamadsDR
@DigitalRoamadsDR 15 күн бұрын
Wifi can be VERY expensive. It's one of those add-ons that we fully expect to get competitive moving forward. I'd say assume in the $20-$25 per day per device/person range. There are some that are lower, Princess is more reasonable. And many times there are perks that are included where you might find the basic internet is included. Some cruise lines like Virgin Voyages include the basic internet. And, if you have loyalty status at some lines you can at times get substantial discounts or even some free time.

Later in the day I decided to go for it. I booked it thru the cruise line instead of the VTG site and when I 'checked out' it had dropped to 50 dollars. 5 day cruise from Mobile alabama to Mexico. Here’s another way to get a discounted cruise: Holland America standby program I had heard of this a while back the cost is $99 a day which includes port fees and taxes for a inside or ocean view cabin or $129 for a veranda. You need to be able to be at the port 2 to 7 days before the cruise. You pay upfront And if you do not get on the cruise, your money is refunded. Yesterday I “booked” for an 11 day Mexican Riviera cruise in 2025. Representative said they had available ability only for inside.

Thanks for watching. Very good question. In the case of Silversea and Regent I'd say you are more in the "ultra" luxury segment and I' put Azamara in the "comfort" luxury segment. Not as formal. Definitely more destination focused and long times in ports. They do not have new ships like you'll get sometimes from the other two. I would expect the per diem to be better however on Azamara. As for Oceania, we much preferred our Azamara experiences but we will be trying Oceania again on their newest ship in January. Will report back.
