Sad to read about some of the comments here. What is the point of talking about equality, the beauty of religion when in reality it is not practised? But religion, just as so many other things, is merely a tool of the elites. Look at how the Temple Committee members cuddle up to celebrities visiting the Gurdwara and jostling to take photos with them. Make no mistake, these are all chauvinistic opportunists dressed and masquerading as religious people. What is real though are the scriptures in the SGGS. And no one can take that away. Don't focus on these people. They are after all just that-people with their own vested interests.

Video is amazing, captured so many angles, great work harvin. Thanks for rising the issue. I agree we as a sikh do many custom which are against the philosophy of grur nanak. Guru nanak ji did first dialogue for the rights of women, taking stand against the janeu(tradition of individual's entrance in the Hinduism (except ladies and shudra)). so sad to still facing such issues in sikh path (the way to the god or a school).

@@preet57865 with Shri Palki Sahib only males are there for seva and behind barricades females are allowed to stay . Why can't be women behind Palki Sahib !?!?!? Sikhi never discriminated amongst men & women . This is the issue he's talking about
@preet578652 жыл бұрын
@@gulabjamun1988 yes you are exactly right. Guru sahibs always placed women status as important and equally. And even I believe that we should all actively take part in applying that in our lives!

Beautifully captured and documented. It’s shocking to see there’s no females partaking in the sewa. It’s always mentioned there’s no difference between men and women..our religion is against gender discrimination. Wonder what’s the reason behind it?

I will share with you our personal experience.....in 2014....our family of my wife.son n daughter were blessed enough to travel to Amritsaar.....we woke up early and waited for the parkash procession.....eventually the crowd started building up....then the Sewadaars with sticks came n told my wife and daughter to remove themselves n go behind the barricades...as only males of any "background"were allowed within the procession area....we refused to move based on equality values in Sikhi...the sewadaars got rough n one Sikh came up said that the sewadaars will use the dhendae on us coz he knows that they are very protective of their ways stating it has been a tradition since the Gurus days of only allowing males to be within the area just like singing kirtan in Darbar Sahib.....we finally gave in when it started getting rough.....tears flowed from our eyes n a sense of hopelessness filled our hearts....there was also a Hindu couple that had just got married n came to pay their respects...they witnessed this n felt heart broken coz they were shoved out too.....not a single punjabi came to our assistance....I never consider them as Sikhs regardless of what their outer appearance looks like coz if u cannot live to the basic message of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on gender equality....u r a hypocrite......there are many other non Sikhi practices that we are so much into....Jattpatt....is a very common practice even with so called "Amritdharis"..... we still have a long way to go to fully understanding our Sikhi....

@@kumaug04 OMG I wasn't aware about this ....... I've been doing Ardas from so long to witness this atleast once , Nd I thought as sikhi do not discriminate between genders , I'll reach early Nd be there for sewa ....... No Idk whom should I ask help for .......... May these rituals change as soon as possible ...... So that even we girls could take part in Guru Maharaj's Seva 🙏🙏😭
