When Swansea was a much better place before the ruination
@johnjephcote76369 ай бұрын
Those huge tramcars could be run together as multiple units as some photos shew. I remember one 'stored' at the Middleton Railway in its early days and, like the London Feltham tram it was either burnt by vandals or burnt because there was nowhere to preserve it from deterioration. What a pity.

Why the insert of Peckett saddle tank number 1145. This was nothing to do with the Mumbles railway and is in fact a Swansea Harbour Trust/Gwr. Dock shunting engine shown on Danygraig engine shed. It detractes from an otherwise very good video. Graham Sinnett.

Clearly you are a person who has an interest in trains, Good for you. However I have a love for my home town/City Swansea. as for the one picture that seems to spoil your viewing of my video, which was done over 16yrs ago. I'm truly sorry, but all pictures were on a site with the heading Mumbles trains over the years. Not being a Train/Tram lover only as a Sandfields child growing along side the railway and spending many many hours along the sea front which brings back many memories for me. So congratulations on being the first person in over 16yrs to have spoted 1 picture " with a Swansea connection " but not a Mumbles train/tram.

Sir while in no way am I puuting you down but informing you of the fact you have entered incorrect information which if not pointed out becomes false information. I have also seen on other sites where photos of the mumbles railway have actually shown the ajacant LMS line. Now people will as I believe you may have done taken them to be correct. I was brought up in Swansea and love Swansea and its industrial heritage which has been sadly neglected by the local council who are at last attempting to recectfiy some of the long lost history such as the Hafod. So I say again I enjoyed you video but would like you to be aware of this minor error. I note you are from Sandfields I myself came from Landore /Penlan and love the Swansea valley. Keep the videos coming but please don't take offence if someone points out a minor error as its all information tha future youngsters is going to pick up on. Regards Graham.

You might find that your volume control can sort that issue out for you, however the song is about the mumbles train so it's staying. lmfao

The Castle Gardens and the floral roundabout were infinitely more beautiful than the unspeakably hideous, TV dominated, BT tower blighted, chewing-gum splattered concrete skateboard hellscape just down from the blandest open space this side of a demolition site opposite the Dragon that now spreads despondency and saps the last dregs of pride from the city. Just put it back the way it was and there would be light once again. What is wrong with Swansea Council?!

Nice to capture these places for posterity, particularly as I think this is closing soon, if it hasn't already. Wonder what will happen when it's closed. Pity to knock it down, as it's a nice building. (I went up there briefly last year, but I'm not saying why!)

Hi - we would be interested in using this footage on Wales Online as part of a feature we are doing on carnivals. Would this be possible please for us to use it - and do you own the copyright to the footage?
@wildben7 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, I do indeed own the copyrights to this video and still have the cine reels. I have no problem in you using any of the footage, so long as it's not for any financial gain. Brian Davies "Real name" ;)

Plans are in motion for a new Mumbles Railway around Swansea Bay being incorporated into a new L.R.T. for Swansea. Even the First Minister has said he sees L.R.T.,trams as future transport for Swansea. Anyone interested in finding out more,view the Aman Valley Railway Society website.

A lovely tribute but it is not as close to the original route as possible. You should have left the road at Blackpill and followed the promenade to Knab Rock, demolishing Verdi's on the way..
