I have been tracking with Cronometer which is a great app, but I love the diet recommendation based on tracking actual weight to goal and updating the macros. Thanks for the review, always great to hear from someone who is not being paid for an opinion and is into training as well.

I've been able to do squat for a maximum of 135 KG (300 lbs), but today i changed my form by adopting a wide stance and my strength got reduced to about 105ish (230 lbs).
@ChrisJakob264
@ChrisJakob264 4 күн бұрын
That is a solid squat man! How did the new stance feel? Sometimes a different stance will feel better right of the bat, even if strength is down the first time doing it. If it feels better and more stable, it might be worth progressing on for a while to see if you can blow past your previous best of 135kg!

@@ChrisJakob264 Thanks! It's been a year since I started working out seriously. Recently, I had an idea about how to squat deeper while reducing my risk of injury. I revisited some powerlifting videos and noticed something I hadn’t picked up on before: all the powerlifters have a slightly-wider-than-shoulder-width stance with their feet pointed somewhat outward. I decided to adopt this form primarily to prevent injury. How does it feel? Well, emotionally, becoming much weaker sucks. Physically, I don’t feel as stable as I used to. When I got close to failure, I felt like my balance was off, and if I hadn’t tried to stabilize myself with my legs, I might have tilted toward my right side. I know my body needs time to recover, so maybe the strength reduction was largely due to lingering fatigue from the previous week. It could also be a lack of muscle memory with the new stance. Perhaps a stance somewhere between my old and current one might work best for me. My main priority is finding a good form that minimizes injury risk and allows me to comfortably lower my body until the top of my legs at the hip joint is below the top of my knees.

Love the vids man, do you have a good queue for foot width during squat setup?
@ChrisJakob264
@ChrisJakob264 5 ай бұрын
Thanks man! I like to start off from a natural squat position, depending on the individual this will probably be slightly wider than hip width. A good way to find this to grab onto the rack, or a resistance band on the rack at about hip level then lean back in bend into a squat until you are hanging and resting on your calves/hammies. The foot width that let’s this feel the most effortless will be a great spot to start from!

So I’m noticing some discrepancies between what the food label reads and what MacroFactor logs, as in, MFP says my citrus cuties are 35 calories per fruit, gala apples around 80 calories but when I log them into MF it logs the foods at like 10-20 calories higher than the actual food label. Do I use MF numbers or should I lower their calories to match the actual food label

Why is your audio so echoy when you clearly have a good mic? 😢
@cr0p_dustin
@cr0p_dustin 9 ай бұрын
Because the room you record in is FAR more important than your mic. Also, he had the mic pointing down, so the cardioid pattern is facing at the floor away from him, literally recording echoes.
@Luk3d4wG
@Luk3d4wG 9 күн бұрын
@@cr0p_dustin It's also a condenser mic, picking up sound in a wider area like the humming of the fridge. Definitely needs more sound treatment in the room for better quality sound still.

How exactly does the expediture calculator work ? Do you enter workouts you did and it calulates it based on weight and height ? or do you enter steps/cals from something like fitbit ?
@ChrisJakob264
@ChrisJakob264 Жыл бұрын
It tracks just off data, so the only inputs are your bodyweight and food consumed. Then after about 3 weeks it hones in on your expenditure based on changes in your weight vs calories consumed. So If your steps increase or decrease in a period of time your bodyweight trend update the expenditure calculator
