Try going to a food bank and defending a woman and her medical service dog then the volunteer leading the food bank spout off a bunch of lies about the law of the service dog and not wanting to accept the law as it's written Jesus to call the police department and lie about everything that occurs because she thinks dogs are disgusting Imagine holding the copies in your hand reach out your hand to give it to the police officer thinking it's a lot Shirley he will respect the law not in bartlesville Oklahoma but they will promise you a trip to jail for having a boss to stand up for someone else's rights So I waited a couple of days went down to the police department ask where do I go to pay the fee for a peaceful demonstration on a public sidewalk I was told there is no fee that it is a right of freedom of speech my sister is afraid for me But I'm going down town on a public sidewalk right now alone by myself to continue to use my voice or if nothing else my signs because what the group is them did what's wrong Neither of those people were a medical doctor their opinions should not matter at all I don't know my battery is care for my fellow human beings or maybe growing up I watch too many of those shows call what would you do I'm going back down there I'm taking my Trump flag hat and t-shirt along with a sign of counting down the days until he is in charge along with signs of how ridiculous it was for them to try to separate the owner and the medical service dog here are a couple of examples excuse me is that a wheelchair why do you have that wheelchair do you have paperwork stating you can use that wheelchair never mind that did you use that wheelchair on the ground did the warriors pick up contaminants and germs as you used it never mind yes I can see that it did I can also see that it is the color red which is the sign of evil to use our services you may come in but you must leave the wheelchair outside Oh my God is that a prosthetic leg why do you have that so you say you are a veteran of war do you have the paperwork to prove that and by the way where are the stickers that go on your leg stating this leg is not real well you don't look like a veteran to me where's your T-shirt to alert everyone you have a gross fake leg that you're using well you can come in but you have to take that leg off and leave it outside it's okay we have cards for you to hang on to you can use it to hop around the premises because you have a shoe on that fake leg and it has contaminants and germs on it we cannot allow it in here Oh my God is that an oxygen tank were you thinking about bringing it inside with you no that's not allowed because we use electricity inside the building if a spark goes off from an electrical short that oxygen is flammable dear God you could blow us all sky high I don't care it's for a medical condition you have to leave that outside or you were not be allowed to enter our building Are you trying to come in here do I see plastic from a diaper why are you wearing that oh my God let me think which brand is it I can't remember the colors now I don't like that brand the whole idea is just disgusting you're going to have to take it off and leave it outside we have a bathroom facility here we don't care that you have cancer if you can't use a bathroom with some type of respect we cannot allow you in the building asking a person to separate themselves from a medical service animal the scientist doctors animal behaviorist is the best medicine they can come up with to ensure you make it to an old lovely rap age should be allowed in a building to protect you and your safety severe where enough to alert you some very bad medical condition is about to take place you need to stop and take your medication if you have time to you need to get your yourself in a safe environment so nothing worse is going to happen that medical service dog is there to watch over you is there for your protection even this far into the future that breathing living being created by God is the best humans can come up with it's just that simple And to use the excuse that it's our disgusting germ ridden virus carrying insect infested disgusting creature is search a fantasy they have created from a personal opinion they have a problem with That's something wrong in the soul of a human being So I'm here in bartlesville Oklahoma I'm willing to face going to jail to support the right for a person to have a service dog I'm not be forced to be separated from one another to enter a building

Or how about you use the laser to point them to a reward? We do this with working dogs for LE and the dogs don’t go crazy as suggested SMH poor training advice here. Done properly the laser is fine just make sure the dog gets a reward like any other behavior you want the dog to perform.
@TopDogProfessionalTraining9 күн бұрын
We've used laser pointers for LE, as well as service dogs, but it definitely takes a lot more time and understanding of training principles to be able to do so. The average pet owner usually struggles with being able to correctly time their reward schedules for more complex behaviors and it takes some pretty phenomenal timing to use a laser in a productive manner. Of course if you've got a super simple way I'm all ears and would love to see a video. The fact of the matter is that we get dogs that come to us for training a few times per year that are nearly broken mentally because they have become so obsessed with finding the laser. I just had a consult with a dog last week that broke a window when it saw the reflection of a tail light going down the street and it tried to chase it. These dog has also lost about fifteen pounds in the last few months pacing around the house looking for the laser pointer. The folks feel terrible of course because they had no idea something so simple could turn so sour for them.

1st Mistake : Malligator Breed. For the disabled??? No. For police, military, security, search & rescue? You bet. Unfortunate that they are brought into homes without their having done research(readily available). Belgian Malinois does not equal GSD🐺😮

This is super cool to see what service dog tests look like. I’ve been looking and looking on the web to find the different commands and things service dogs are taught to do but have not quite found what I am looking for. I’m trying to write a factually accurate story about a service do trainer. Thank you for showing what tests you do to see if a service dog is ready!

More often than not people want to touch or feed my service dog without asking or reading the badges on his vest as he is not the normal looking SD. He is a 130 lb European Doberman at 2yrs of age. I needed a tall dog for mobility issues as well as a strong, intelligent dog to help lift me if I fall. I’m deaf and needed a dog to be my ears to alert me to dangers or cars while walking. He has truly been a life saver. My trainers have done an amazing job!

130 lbs I doubt it if he is a European doberman. Unless he is on steroids

The only thing my boy wouldn’t be able to do is jump into the car and that’s just because he doesn’t like to jump on things. But he does wait for me to cue him to come up to the car door and can use a ramp if I have one available. Would he fail because of this? (He’s a smaller medium sized dog that I can easily assist into the car. )

He full of crap but nice guy. I can see right thru his pitch and how he is training the customers to understand that they will be paying up charges from upselling over and over.

Feel free to reach out if you'd like to talk to some referrals of folks that have gone through this program. I think you'll find that one thing I've never been accused of in my twenty years of training dogs is upselling, kind of the opposite in fact. I tend to give away too much stuff for free. Overall this program has saved a lot of people money because many were prepared to spend $20-30k for a fully trained Diabetic Alert Dog and instead were able to come in at a fraction of that cost by using the cycle training system that I described here.

How do I do this while working a full time job. Puppy is 6 month old French bulldog and he pees everywhere all the time and I have tried the routine and he goes outside and we reward and come inside and he does great foe a week then he pees in the crate and lays in it and poops in there and he don’t care. I’m at my wits end with him and it’s to the point my husband is ready to give up on him and make us rehome him. I can’t do that but I also can’t be there for 2 weeks straight all day training. I live in a tiny town and we don’t have dog walker or sitters and I have no family here to help.

At what point can the dog go with me everywhere/to work? the reason for asking is I’m a single woman and recent empty Nester. I have type one diabetes and sometimes I don’t wake up to my CGM alarms. I don’t want to die this way. I know that sounds dramatic, but, it’s my truth. At what point would my job be required to accept him/her as an accommodation? If not right away, is it possible to be approved by you if I would have to leave them at home to go to work until they can be with me full time?

with my dog he best advice i was given was to just not use pee pads if the end goal is to have them go out. it confuses them if not done right and adds an extra and needless step to the training process. jus use them to line the puppy area but dont rely on them when it comes to house breaking. I lost sleep for almost a year (small dog so small bladder) due to having to wake up at 3am to take him out then again at 7am but it was well worth it. now I have a 4yr old 30lb adult dog who doesn't have accidents and can be taken on 10 hour flights. the dog wouldn't even use indoor relief area (stood there for all 30 minutes of my layover plus the airline makes pets wear diapers anyway )

This guy obviosly doesn't know the GSD and how they respond to lasers. My GSD loves playing laser and she knows when it's play time and she gets great excersice playing with the laser. I live in Winnipeg where it gets to -50 so exercising outside in winter is not always pleasant. My GSD has no behavioral problems. She's extremely well behaved.
@TopDogProfessionalTraining5 ай бұрын
There are dogs out there that can play with laser pointers and be just fine, however I can promise you that there are many GSD's that have developed the problems I'm describing in this video. I know because I've been hired to try and fix them and it's one of the most difficult things to try and fix because they literally develop extreme OCD. One of the worst cases I ever saw was a GSD that had lost over 20 pounds because he became so obsessed with chasing the laser pointer that he started looking for it day and night, he didn't want to eat, didn't want to sleep, the only thing he wanted was the laser pointer. The sad thing is that it started off as just a fun game and he was really enjoying it, but he quickly became obsessed. Not all dogs are wired this way, so I'm sure I'll always get the comments from folks that say I'm wrong because their dog loves it, but unfortunately I've dealt with way too many people that said they wished they would have known how dangerous it could become.

My border collie and I were walking in the woods when a huge German Shepherd appeared on the path ahead of us, it's owner nowhere around. The German Shepherd took one look at us and charged. I grabbed my dog, thankfully she was close enough. Always keep your dog close enough to grab or on leash. I had my hiking stick with me, I placed it at an angle, point on the ground to create the best barrier between us and the charging dog. I held that German Shepherd dog at bay for at least 5 mins before the owner finally turned up. The German Shepherd kept circling around us trying to get to my dog and I moved the stick around with us, blocking it every time. It was baffled by the barrier. Since then I have always carried a hiking stick with me and kept off many other dogs that were trying to attack my dog. One was a Great Pyrennees, another a Jack Russell. Kept a pack of four dogs off like that once. Never had to hit the attacking dogs with the stick, just holding that barrier worked while yelling 'NO!' worked. Though I did have to swing the stick at that Jack Russell, those things are relentless. I am just hoping I don't meet an attacking dog smart enough to figure out that they could get past the stick.

Thank you so much for this. I have a Pomeranian pup, and last month, we were attacked by our neighbor's off-leash pitbull mix while we were out minding our business. My dog didn't get bit because I picked her up and shielded her, but I ended up getting bit on my lower back and went to the hospital. Even though the dog is now strictly on a prong collar and a leash while outside I still get extremely nervous whenever I bring my dog outside. I purchased a break stick after the incident just in case but I will definitely get that stun gun when I have the extra money.
