Beautiful machine although a pity the Bally "Squawk and Talk" sound engine powering machines such as Centaur and Fathom just a couple of years later, wasn't available when Paragon was first conceived.

My aunt and uncle, god rest their souls, had this machine in their basement. I have such fond memories of coming over during the summer and swimming in their pool for hours, and then drying off and going inside to play it for even more hours. Truly one of the greatest memories of my childhood. I couldn't believe they had an actual pinball machine! Thanks so much for posting this. It definitely scratched part of my soul that was itching!

I played this game at the pinball gallery in Malvern, PA. It’s still there and still playable… I also set a high score on that table.

Was there an original silverball? I might have played a different one.

You might be thinking of Fireball. There was only one version of Silverball.

Nice game Doug. I prefer this game over a Williams Jackpot any day as this game has great flow and the middle pop bumper is a plus for ball saving. This is a game where a amateur player can beat a seasoned player because of the high luck factor, thus it can be very fun for a beginner player, and frustrating for the pro (as a beginner could beat them). The roulette wheel was engineered very well by Williams too. As a kid, Williams games were my favorite. ;-)

I like how the flipper design works great with the shots and wheel feature on Fantastic. I don't think this game would be as good if it had the standard flipper layout. I have owned Spanish Eyes and on that one even though it has this same flipper layout it's just not as fun since the shots are not the greatest on that game.

Recently bought this machine, how do get it to go up to ball 5, game ends after ball 3 on mine
@727PENGOАй бұрын
You have to go to the Game Adjustment Menu and go to Adjustment AD#15 which is "Balls Per Play". Change it from 3 to 5 balls. Note: 3 Ball Play is the Factory Default. If your batteries on the MPU are Dead the MPU will not save your selection, to 5 Ball Play and will go back to Factory Setting once the game is turned off. So, you have to make sure the batteries are good so that your Memory Back Up is working.

Brings back the memories, I used to play one in a pizza shop, but the doodle bug must have been worn out because it only oscillated slowly, about like a small hammer driving a nail. It never went anything flying as fast as yours

Never see this as an arcade game only on compilations like the one on Android/iOS that you can't play anymore (sad) so I just assumed it used a normal paddle just like Breakout, Warlords, or Tempest. Landing in this game is way easier than in Luner Lander
@727PENGOАй бұрын
Major Havoc's came in a dedicated machine with the roller controller or as a kit to install in a Tempest or Space Dual/Gravitar cabinet. The kit did not come with the roller controller, so you had to play with the paddle controller. My machine was originally a Tempest so when I first got this machine it had the Tempest Paddle. I used to play the dedicated machine in the Arcade back when new, so I prefer the roller controller.

I remember this pinball game at our local skating rink back when I was a child back in the 1980s. This was back in late 1985 when sometimes on Saturday afternoons I and us siblings would go roller skating to the AWESOME songs that were huge hits back then. I remember these AWESOME futuristic sounds of this pinball game machine being blended in with those awesome songs and the exciting vibe and feel in the air at our local skating rink. Also at the time, I was fascinated with the what I called at time futuristic looking car, jet etc .for I then thought about and was fascinated with concept cars, planes, etc imaging that they would probably look just like the concept cars by the early mid 1990s or year 2000. I recall reading magazines then such as motor trend that speculated this back then causing me to think like this and show such interest in such things at that time. Brings back AWESOME MEMORIES here! Thank you for posting and showing this!

The LED lights are way too localized and don't look as good as original incandescent
@727PENGO2 ай бұрын
A prior owner had put the LED lights in this machine. I do not like the way it looks at all. I am not a fan of LED lights in older games, nor I would ever install them in any of my games. Beside the looks of them I have many other reasons why I do not like them. I agree 100% the incandescent bulbs look better.

I have this same pinball machine. I do not have the backboard key. Do you happen to know what the key number is? I have been looking everywhere and can not find this information. Thank you for your help.
@727PENGO2 ай бұрын
The key is not the same for all Galaxy machines. On top of that most older machines have had the locks changed over the years due to lost keys. When I get a game that has no keys I drill out the lock and replace the lock. Most pinball parts suppliers have new replacement locks.

How dose the gun work is it a light gun and if so what actually picks up the light??
@727PENGO2 ай бұрын
The gun is just a prop and is only used to line up the shots. Underneath the gun is a plate that has a bunch of contact points. So, there is a row of contact points for the Crow, Cougar, and Ducks. There are two leaf contacts attached to the bottom of the gun. So, when you move the gun if drags the leaf contacts across to plate. Each target is run by their own motor and each target has own contact plate and leaf contact just like the gun does. So how it works is when you match up the gun contact (let's use the ducks as example) to the actual duck contact then you are connecting the two items together and when you press the trigger is completes the circuit which then triggers the duck hit relay to score the points, trigger the hit sound and trigger the hit light. There is also a coil underneath the gun that is used to vibrate the gun when you press the trigger to give the feeling of a real gun. What's neat about this game is it all works on the illusion that the barrel of gun is actually hitting the targets when it's not.

I remember when this was out and I was a kid. It was too hard for me to coordinate with two joysticks, but more than that I found the vase throwers unnecessarily mean. I could understand a soldier or a villain trying to kill you, but normal people trying to kill you just because you annoy them?
