I was a wide-eyed ten year old back in 1965, watching this on a 16 inch black and white TV. The music, the expansive shots of the desert landscape--- I genuinely believed these people were really on an alien planet.

Why is there a Star Link dish on top of the Chariot?

I'm convinced an ten meter large chung of stone would make much more damage as that we see here in the movie-scene.

That disappeared from the seen in later shows. I'm not sure what I thought of it in later shows. I was only ten years old so I am sure there was very little thought put behind it lol.

The Chariot was a prototype of the AMC Pacer.

2:27 the untold story: this monster was a stand up comedian and was just telling his jokes and working his material. Since the Robinsons didn't laugh because they didn't understand his language and he has really big and scary, the monster-comedian threw bolders at them out of frustration.

They sure could kill some viewing time with nothing but music & movement, the cast could take a pee break

That music has an awful lot of tension for just driving around.

yes. one of the best sequences ever, especially for the 60s and me as a kid. The desolation, the music. I also loved the black and white episode where they are shouting out Wiiilll

The Pilot episode for this show was the most expensive ever made at the time.
