Don’t you think the B12 segment is a tiny bit scaremongery? It’s absolutely awful that the poor lady died and I am grateful to Club 12 for raising awareness. However most vegan alternatives are fortified with B12. My oat milk, marmite and mushrooms (ref??) contain B12 (I think). My point is that many, many omnivores eat terribly unbalanced diets, and we need to be talking about that too. It’s only ever the vegan conversation that hammers away at “aren’t you deficient in XYZ….”

"Berry e-cigarette vape" tells me enough about the "expertise" at hand. Like e-juices are made from berries and candies. It's quite hard to take any of this seriously when you can clearly see that even scientists involved in these experiments have no clue about how vaping works and how flavourings are obtained. Disappointing to say the least.

It seems like the topic of gender has become broadly divisive and even weaponised by politics to alienate the opposing voter base. Kudos for sidestepping the topic of gender in social sciences and humanities. I think it is complex enough to require an expert in one of those topics. I felt that the answer went over the listener's head though. and he only wanted, and he only heard, reinforcement for his preexisting beliefs and in particular the conflating of chromosomal sex with gender... fishing for the response "science says there are only 2 sexes/genders" There were similar faux pas from Richard Dawkins and other public speaking scientists on this topic, further fueling the contention and the hate-filled discourse. Doesn't help then with J.K. Rowling taking it to the extreme with spreading of trans hate. Indeed this line of questioning needs to be checked or the question referred to an appropriate expert. A lot more could be said though on the topic of sex from a scientific point of view... even with regards to intersex, gene expression, the science of transitioning, epigenetic and lifestyle factors in gene expression, biological and neurological differences between the sexes, the effect of hormones, and the unfortunate phenomenon of medicine and medical literature designed to improve the outcome of white western males. I wonder if there was already a Naked Scientists episode about the sexes.

SA legacy mines the biggest thing was to recover sulphuric acid, copper and silver from those heaps, which paid for the processing. The gold and uranium was a bonus, along with platinum group metals. As well the waste was used to fill in the old workings, getting rid of both the heap above the ground, and filling in the hole that was in danger of collapse as well. then the old heap was gone, the ground was more stable, and the land was sold off to make new residential areas. I remember those old mine heaps along the roads from decades ago, now almost totally gone, replaced with shopping malls, industrial sites and brand new suburbs. Less dust blowing off the heaps as well, so better air quality as well.

Totally unexpected, feeling how it began to shrink and eventually disappear within 2 months was so liberating. I followed the steps I mentioned, and within the first 2 weeks the bloating was gone. I simply go'ogled Tilly Strankten's Ovarian Cyst Guide and it's like I hit the feel-good reset button lol.

Obviously they want us to have alzheimer's, hence the g e o e n g i ne e ring (nano aluminium and all the other chemicals), coupled with the weaponised frequencies related to Jose Delgados work years ago. They want us to be feeble minded so we don't resist. We're just meant to sit here and get gaslighted to the grave.

Any reason you can’t take questions from here…? You know when they had that mad problem with astronaut’s helmets filling up with water during spacewalks, meaning they had to rush back inside before it filled and they drowned - and it took years to find a safe solution? Why didn’t they just add a drinking straw that could be moved into their mouth so they could drink the water? It might not have been water but I’m fairly sure it was drinkable (if not technically potable).

Did you hear back from the chap at the Space Boffins podcast? You said he’d probably know the answer to my water in ISS helmets question that had NASA foxed for ages - and why a drinking straw wasn’t the obvious fix it sounds like it should have been. I mean one that NASA could have properly incorporated into the helmet design, not just the wearer popping in a straw. Thanks again

Sorry this has taken a while; I tried to post a reply previously, but it did not publish for some reason. This is what Richard Hollingham told us: "In 2013 ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano almost drowned in space. We talked to him about it here: www.thenakedscientists.com/podcasts/astronomy-podcasts/space-boffins/drowning-space I’m not sure drinking sweat would be the answer (although space suits do have drinking straws for water). The life support system should be able to mop-up any excess liquid and, in Luca’s case, wasn’t able to. The other thing to mention is that water tends to coalesce in microgravity…that’s what happened with Luca when the mass of water gathered in his helmet."
@anonimushbosh
@anonimushbosh 2 ай бұрын
@@NakedScientists Drowning vs gulping warm sweat… yep, definitely not a straightforward choice!! I didn’t realise it was sweat but I remember hearing about how it coalesced as you say. Thank you, I’ll go listen to that link later on. Cheers

So can it be assumed that if the pills don't weigh the exact same then there's a small variation in how much of the active ingredient there is in them? For most people, this wouldn't be noticeable but for someone who is dependent and has has become extrememly sensitive doing a micro taper of something like a benzodiazepine. You notice the weights of the pills aren't all exactly the same. They can vary by up to 0.02 grams. And during a micro taper this is actually noticeable.

More than 25000 tons of bones (human/horse) from Napoleonic battlefields were imported through the port of Hull to be processed into fertilizer. The young soldiers still had good teeth and these were used in dentures, called "Waterloo teeth". The British were called the vampires of Europe when all this happened. This is not only valid for the dead from Waterloo but also for the heroes from The Charge Of The Light Brigade. Sources from the 1860s report that bones from the Crimean War (1853-1856) were transported to England as well, and in 1881 a newspaper reported that skeletons from the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878) were found in a shipload of bones in the port of Hull. Historians from Belgium and Germany have evidence that even World War I graves were looted. They are currently writing a book about their discoveries.
