Just because your kids mother had remarried doesn’t mean you have you have nothing to do with them for the rest of their lives! Selfish Kathy just didn’t want to be a step mum so told Pete he was interfering with his kids if he saw them again. 🙄

Such good drama. Natural, understated, no shouting, screaming, smashing, promises of dire revenge...and no rapid back and forth cutaways. Just letting the camera do its thing and the acting play out.

Lectures her Mum about being married and she should be pining for her husband. Sharon married Grant then jumped into bed with his brother Phil. She married Phil then jumped into bed with his 'son in law', Keanu.

You have gangster baddies and abusive monsters in EastEnders, back then and nowadays. Many of which are rather interesting and compelling to behold. Nick Cotton, however, is just something else. He embodies villainy as if it's as natural as breathing, thereby making Nasty Nick the essence of evil itself. And that's why Nick Cotton stands out as one of soaps' greatest ever villains to date. Because he is THE villain. You get protagonist anti-heroes and certain redeemable bad guys, but Nick Cotton is the one regular character who is inheritably villainous to the core.

It’s such a shame that John Altman was such a dreadful actor, and he got worse with every sporadic appearance. He reels off his lines really quickly without any thought, subtlety, or changes of tone, like he’s in an am-dram Christmas play.

For all of her abrasive arrogance and self-righteous stubbornness nature to a complete and utter fault, Lou Beale was the OG East End battle-axe and one of the square's most imposing-yet-headstrong matriarchs in history. She was pretty much Walford's answer to being the "Godmother" herself. I mean we have Angie Watts as the Queen of the 80s, and then we have Lou Beale being the Godmother of the lot. For better or worse.

It's weird to see Kathy with Pete not Phil if you never watched the old episodes. You see the show goes from gritty to unrealistic and Pauline has less and less family, Lou, Arthur, Pete, Michelle, Mark. Leaving only Ian and Martin whose marriage she tried to ruin. You can see Pauline got her opinions from Lou

How big of a deal was Teenage Pregnancy in the 80's? Asking because i wasn't around then. Did this storyline have a big impact? Thanks!
@dlk1dlk13 ай бұрын
It was more of a big deal then than it is now. It was one of the major storylines. The father was Den Watts.

@dlk1dlk1 Thank you! 😊. I've binge watched the storyline I enjoyed it as a big Eastenders fan but obviously I wasn't around to watch it back then. Thanks for the reply. One of my friends who is older than me had her son in the 80's the year before this storyline, she said she was made to feel ashamed.. but nowadays it seems as if it's not as big a deal... how times change! Den Watts was a brilliant character from what I've seen!
