I was.... US Army 505th PIR 82ND Airborne Division. Served in Phu Bai, South Vietnam . I well remember the kind of comradery this outstanding Veteran is speaking of. Actually, this is one of the factors that oddly makes me miss Vietnam. GOD bless all the American Men and Women who wore the Uniform and Served!

My heart pours out to you and everyone that was fighting in Vietnam. I was 17 when Nixon froze the draft. I believe it was senseless loss of life. I watch these videos all the time and can’t help thinking about you guys. God Bless You!

Wasn't even in combat, but I spent 3 of my 4yrs in the infantry with the same company...about 8 of them were closer than my own brother.

Thats more like it. They never hit the floor that quickly in the movies. Instead their still walking, watching others go down, trying to help those already down or shouting get down while still standing.

With young people not drinking wine due to changes in attitudes to booze, it may be better to develop seedless grape varieties that can withstand the cold and diseases. The opportunity to sell cold hardy disease resistant seedless grape vines is greater than that for wine grape vines. More people consume seedless grapes than wine grapes, particularly in their back yards. Growing seedless grapes closer to home will reduce the environmental impact of transporting them from California. A significant amount of California grapes are also irrigated with well water that is high in uranium, particularly in the south part of the state. Those are more likely to be exported though.

This is overall a well-done doc about an unremembered giant. The contributions of the current heirs are well appreciated. So many topic, so little time. Here are two more elements worthy of elaboration--first being his long time leadership of various agrarian organizations along with his oft associating with the fledgling worker groups and parties, thus the Bernie Sanders comparison. Also, consider him an early model for the Humphries, Latimers, Wellstones and Walzes who all had this in common -- young liberals who moved from another state and learned to know Minnesota and Minnesotans, earn their trust and respect if not always sharing political beliefs. (Heck, throw in Rudy Boschwitz for all those attributes, except for the embarrassingly liberal part.)

I do. They tend to make good quality programming with a high degree of scientific accuracy. Their documentaries are both interesting and enlightening. I like PBS. I guarantee you can neither elucidate actual reasons for why you dislike PBS nor can you give specific examples demonstrating your reasons for disliking them.

Oddly enough no mention that rodeo/roughstock event's is 90% mental and 10% physical. The (what ifs) and (fear factor) always lingers in your head. This element is what affects the physical performance of the roughstock contestant every day. No mention at all. Very disappointed.

No bone Spurs for me either but the Viet Nam war was a democrat war that LBJ stared to get elected after he had Kennedy asasinated. It bc was even pushed thru Congress and named The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. I didn’t go thank God my draft number was 300. I had many friends that were killed and wounded from LBJ’s political war.
