If he did this today he would have been fired a thousand times over but it's nice to see what real railroaders used to do unfortunately today's railroading isn't about railroading it's about reciting things properly on the radio

Hey Scott, I really couldn't give you an honest answer, but if the WNYP has cars for them, they will run. The line is limited access, but nothing drone can't handle!😅 You could try calling them, too.

Saw recent comment (last 3-4 days) from either someone in the know or railfan that lack of rail traffic at Linkwood, Md. to & from Cambridge is cuz state has deemed rails unsafe. Hopefully the necessary work to resume service is in the offing. Love to see some future rail action at the Rte. 50 crossing.

Steam Era was the best and we enjoyed listening to the puffing and whistling of several types of Engines with different sounds. The journeys between Londa to Belgaum and vice versa used to be great with most of the Drivers as Anglo-Indians and one Famous parsi Driver Surthi who was the best.

Awesome video. Recently, I emailed the Governor to ask her why this rail road sits one step above abandonment, instead of being used to generate income for the cash strapped MTA which owns the right-of -way. This is not an obscure logging railroad, located somewhere in the remote regions of Oregon. I recommended that she invite short line operators to take a look at this route for passenger service to/from Danbury, CT, or perhaps even an alternate Amtrak / CSX route to NYC. Since there are no industries to service in NY any longer, I thought that this was a good idea. If Governor Hochul ever bothers to get back to me, I'll update this post. But I wouldn't hold my my breath waiting.

Thise were golden days. We used to travel by the steam engine drawn trains. It was a memorable experience. Britishers contributed richly for the laying many new lines.

Luzerne and Susquehanna #600 is saved as of now. A fundraiser dedicated to saving L&S #600 was successful and its soon off to the Danbury Railway Museum since the $65,000 goal was reached in only 3 days. Soon L&S #600 is returning back to B&M #1127. Wow thats neat with GP9 #1751 and SW1 #600 catches.

Even in the nineties trains didn’t go through often. I also noticed that when you crossed the Hudson line before merging there were only two tracks. Maybe at that time there were only two tracks 9n the Hudson line north of croton Harmon; because for the last thirty years since I’ve been riding metro north there has always been three tracks between Poughkeepsie and Croton Harmon.
