or you can run a rubber tube from the clutch slave up into the reservoir and manipulate the clutch until you see no more bubbles in the fluid, making certain the hose is submerged into the reservoir fluid

I dig the video! Really informative, with a side dish of humor, with a cool accent! I believe I need to do this process to my 2002 VMAX. When I pull the clutch handle in to engage the clutch, the bike dies after I put it in gear. I’m not sure that’s the issue, however, it seems like a good starting point. Thanks for the video! Cheers my friend 🍻!

You are welcome! There is a sensor on the clutch (near handle/grip). Normally when a gear is engaged and you hold the clutch you can start the bike. Could there be an issue with the sensor not knowing that the clutch is pressed and turn it off as soon as you engage a gear?

Benjamin Bonnet I’ll try starting it with the bike in gear, and the clutch lever pulled in. All I know is when the bike is in neutral, it starts fine, and then when I shift it into first gear, it automatically dies. I do appreciate your reply, and I’ll keep you posted. The bike is in excellent condition, with only about 5,600 miles. I’m hoping I can get it fixed soon, as I miss riding it.

@@vigilantvoice9778 I had the same problem. Turned out that the shop had not reconected the sidestand switch. I traced from the switch to a connector on top of the fuel tank, pushed the connectors together and that fixed it.

Keith Houghton Thanks Keith, I appreciate your input. I’ll try that next. I’m not sure exactly what happened to cause the issue. One day it was fine, and the next day it wasn’t. I was able to push start it in second gear, but it stayed in second, as it wouldn’t let me shift into any other gear. I’m hoping I get it resolved soon, as there’s only a couple more months of riding left before it gets too cold.
