Cobra Rattler was one of my favorites. I also had the big black jet and the Hydrofoil boat. My brother got ther big green hovercraft which I loved.

Nice vlog ! So what are you saying you was at Efteling 40 years ago ? Wow. Did it change a lot in your memory, I bet it did. You are right Efteling is the number one themepark in The Netherlands. It is in fact the number 2 most visited themepark in Europe. Disneyland Paris is number 3 most visited and Europapark in Germany is number 1 most visited. Efteling opened in 1952. 3 years later in 1955 Disney opened it's first park. There is a black and white video of Walt Disney visiting The Netherlands on KZbin called "Walt Disney in The Netherlands" He was in The Netherlands in 1951 when Efteling finished building the Fairytale Forest. He did business a 30 minute drive from Efteling but no one knows for sure if he went to Efteling. They do know he visited 3 themeparks in Europe among which was themepark Tivoli Gardens in Denmark which was opened in 1843. The oldest themepark in the world is called Bakken also in Denmark opened in 1583. So in 1951 Walt Disney could have gone to Bakken as well. The first ever Madhouse in the house was built in Efteling. Other themeparks copied the idea of a madhouse and made them arguably better. Also the idea of talking thrash bins was copied by other themeparks. Efteling is now owned by a big corporation like Disney, it is owned by a foundation that puts all the money back into the park and does not go to rich owners. That is why prices of entrance, food and merchandise are lower than Disney. Most people think Efteling started as Fairyrale Forest but that is not the case. It started out as a football field with 2 practice football fields and a playground. They added more and more to the playground and more and more people started coming with their children. Then they decided to build the Fairytale Forest and people from all over the country started coming. Efteling is build in a nature reserve and only 11% of it can be build attractions and restaurants on by Efteling.

@2012inca Thanks for the history, didn't knew about Disney coming to the Efteling. It sure changed a lot sinds the 80s. Tho happy to see a lot of attractions stayed the same. Thanks for watching 👍
