This isnt even the lammas fair 😂 The fair goes the whole way up town, full of stalls. Music, food, clothes, tools, farming stuff, dulse, honeycomb etc. You literally went to the sea front. The fair is on the last Monday and Tuesday of August. And its the whole way up.through the main road of the town!

When I went to the fair some 40 years ago that's what it was. Just 2 days with the streets packed with stalls and people but now we have the pound shop and a thing called consumer rights, so there's not as many people trading from market stalls the in way it was years ago. Its also true to say that children are also not traded there anymore so it's not to say that all things that come to a end is bad. Back to the mordern day with its health and safety and human rights not to mention animal rights and it apeers its now spread over 4 days instead of just the Monday and Tuesday. You can go online and download the event times. This year like last year has heavy horses followed by a parade through the town centre with vintage cars on the Saturday Sunday main event is Sand Castle building followed by kite flying. Need I say more. Just no point going on a Sunday. They should've just kept it to the Monday and Tuesday

When I was a child I knew a old man who was traded at a fair when he was a young child.They would've be hired out to a farm where they would work for 6 months then their parents would get paid at the end of it. The farmers had to house them and feed them. Some where better than others. At the end of the six months all the children and farmers would go back to the fair and rebid for the following 6 months. If you look at some old farm building you can still see some with white washed outbuilding with stone steps on the end gable going to the attic. Thats the kind of place where the boys wouldve slept. The old man i knew died on my 8th birthday

Thanks for your comment. I like to show a place in the video as it is, but it can make the video longer than folk want to watch. It also means that if I go somewhere that's not great then I would still post the video even though it may not be great. You Tube is just a hobby for me and i dont earn any money from it so i dont have to make popular videos. That was my 1st time to walk that mountain and its one that most people could do if they just take their time although I started getting cold at the top. I had a fall a couple of weeks ago while making a youtube video and badly cut my head. I was in the city centre and got to hospital pretty quick but that makes me realise, what if it happen somewhere like Errigal. Packing a first aid kit would be advisable somewhere like that as you would be a few hours of a hospital. You should try watching youtube on a large 4k screen with a external speaker. It's even better

One to remember. Most Vets will take in stray dogs and scan for a chip (by law all dogs at least in the UK and NI must be chipped). The dog warden will collect from the practice.... And it'll cost the owners 80 pounds per dog fine for their dog(s) straying here in my area which is a better deterrent. Repeat offenders can lose their dog. People think they can just take in a dog, but dogs are property by law, the five days is to give the owners the time to get their dog. If they don't bother to collect the dog becomes the property of the council and they can re-home. The good news is, very few dogs are pts in NI or the ROI we've have so many fantastic rescues and sanctuaries. Anyway that was a textbook rescue and thank you for caring about the little beagle she's a beauty. The breed is known to escape and roam, scent dog, and its breeding teaches it to do this by instinct... So it could have come from further than the houses.... So you gave her the best chance to go home.

As time has passed I realise just how lucky I was, considering the height that I fell back from. Other people have fallen from less heights and not survived. Wee Luna doing ok. She went with my brother and got to see the rest of the parade and I'm sure was eating lots of chips and burgers from the ground. When I got out of Hospital I got Luna but the parade was just finishing. Great video, it's a great day out, definitely the favourite of the three days. We had a Luna the lunatic with us and her sister Super Nova. The Bassets belong to a RB lodge. They are lovely. See them at Armaghs 12th too. I remember a few years ago they used to ride horses down the lane to begin the sham fight. That's now obviously too dangerous because there is so many people coming to Scarva, probably insurance too.There's so many car parking areas in Scarva. Pretty sure at least one if not more goes to charity ( seen cancer research and air ambulance at one). There is a few small ponds in Scarva estate, and Lough shark was not far from that car park. As for Drumderg Loyalist flute band, Keady, outside Scarva house, I'd guess that is their annual picture for the marching season.

@@cpparkinson5109 Lot of info there👍 I was disappointed that there were no Horses. I've been told by other family members that there were the last time they were up there. The Sham fight was a wee bit of a sham too. I had imagined that we would be looking down a hill at King William & King James moving towards each other on Horseback followed by a few men in uniform, doing their battle, but then I do have a good imagination 😀. But what I saw was what it was. Next year it might be better as I'm not expecting as much. The Parade itself was good as I actually seen and heard Pipe Bands playing their Pipes and not just walking past me beating a single drum beat. I noticed the field parking for the Air Ambulance and a local man told me that the farmer who owns that field give 100% of the money raised to that charity, so I'll go to that field next year. I must look up them lakes in Google maps and I might take up my Electric Scooter so I can do the Canal Path while Luna walks or runs beside me.

@@jamesfriery There was about 125 bikers and they would have to pay about £10 to take part, so that around £1250, but I sometime wonder if its the best way to collect money. Farmers would do tractor runs in the Same way, but here in Northern Ireland Police are still under threat of being murdered and as such they have a higher wage. It would be interesting to know what it cost the Police Service of Northern Ireland to provide Two Police Motorcycles. They would've had to do a risk assessment for them first. They where there over a hour before the run began. It could be that it cost the police more for providing the Policemen than what was raised in the collection. But that's the same for all public events. We had a local band parading so they could rise some money. They got just under £200 but It took 2 Police cars and a police motorbike. It would be cheaper for the Police to make a £200 donation so the event didnt take place. Northern Ireland is broke at the min with the police service being X amount of million short.

Hi. I bought this inverter few days ago, but can not understand how cooling system works. During 4 hours inverter become too hot with 45W load (TV). Cooling fans are not spinning. They are running only 1 sec when I am turning on inverter using button. You dont have such problem or it is ok for this model?
@AustellHenderson
@AustellHenderson Ай бұрын
@@user-te7bh2fc7n Hi. The fans do not stay on all the time. They only come on when needed and they can run and different speed depending on the heat and not the load. I only use mine to run a 1000watt air fryer, but my inverter never gets hot to touch. As the chips cook and the heating element switches off and on then the fan speed will change. Only thing I can think off is the metal body of the unit helps get rid of heat so it needs a space all around it. If your cables are lose then that would cause heat. I intend to get thinker cables for mine as they would be the hottest part. It comes with a 12 month warranty, so if I was you and you think your unit might be faulty then find something that uses a 1000 watts and run it at that rate for 30 mins or more. It should do it without problem and if it fails then return for a replacement.

@@AustellHenderson Thanks for your reply. I can hold my fingers on inverter case, but comparing to Novopal 1.5 kW with connected refrigirator (85 W load) Renogy has higher temperature in almost similar conditions. Currently, the inverter is working well, there was no shutdown due to overheating.

Hi. My friend is away on a foreign holiday at the monent. He also uses the same inverter as me, but he uses a 800watt air fryer with his and a Electric underblanket. He was to give me a new set of power cables so when I meet up with him( could be a few weeks, HGV Driver) I'll make another short video on how the fans work and what temperature the unit, cables and battery become. When I do it I'll put a link to the video here. KZbin should then send you a notification. Hope that helps. The only other thing I'll say about the fans is that cheaper inverters just have them blowing all the time. Not much good if you are using them at night with a electric underblanket as the noise keeps you awake. The fan are there to stop the unit overheating and getting damaged. I used mine during a heatwave in the boot of my car using the full 1000watts and the inverter never cut out. I'm using mine now over a year and it's used most weekends

@user-te7bh2fc7n it sounds like you know what you are doing but you shouldn't need to do it. I just wondered if your inverter maybe had a fault. When I bought mine I payed the small amount extra to amazon for the 3 year warranty as I didn't have much luck with so-called 2000watt inverters before this and it cost alot more. It couldn't run my 800 watt airfryer. The noise kept me awake
