@@Yonoize94 the name must EXACTLY match on both the reastream instance in your daw and in obs. You must select send in your daw instance of Reastream and receive on the ons instance of reastream

Hey man can you help me with something. I have a microphone that is not connected to the Interface, i only want my voice to be recorded on that. Than i have the interface which i obviously want to use on ableton for the sound output to OBS. But my problem is i cant hear myself through the MIC because its not going through the interface but via usb. it works on OBS tho. So the reastream thing worked but how can i make that i also hear myself? Also i need one more audio for the browser AUDIO how do i combine all these 3 things

with browser audio i mean when im looking something on youtube, also there is no option when i use the focusrite Interface to add my Microphone ro record i always need to use another like asio4all to use a usb microphone, but maybe there is an option on OBS to make me hear myself, because i dont want to record my voice on ableton only for streaming

what I`m saying is that my voice records on OBS with the USB MIC but i cant hear when i talk. Sorry english isnt my native language hope you understand haha also thanks so much for this video

@muhamet.q5216 click advanced audio settings and tick the box "monitor". You can also do this in Windows I believe, which may have less lag. Hope this helps

This works great but is no real solution for me. Once I do this the stream hears me from the DAW but after a time my normal mic stops working in OBS so even if i close my daw I get no signal on my Mic until i restart OBS is there any fix for this?

I'm just confused you went and got plug-ins for Reaper but then opened it up in Ableton Live 11 Suite. I'm trying to set up a live stream with Reaper, Apollo Twin interface, and OBS 😐

@@keithisonfire the plugin is a vst made by the same company. I installed (or copy pasted the .dll file for reastream into the directory for Ableton). This method will work for your setup. It doesn't have to be Ableton by the way. Let me know if you get stuck

Amazing video man! I do have one small but important problem. when i start streaming or recording with obs the audio that comes from my daw starts to crack and buffers a lot. I tried changing buffer setting and stuff but nothing seemed to work. It's not in my daw side either cause all the audio i hear comes from there and sounds fine when im streaming or recording. Do you know what the problem could be?

@@wardulenaers try changing the identifier. So change the name from default to like 001. Make sure you change it in both instances (Ableton and OBS). Let me know how you go 😁

@@CMillerMusic Doesn't seem to solve it, even changed DAW's and stil got the same problem. Could it be cause im doing percussion and the plugin can't handle high changes in volume (While not peaking ofc)?

Nope, it absolutely can handle it. Check that the sample rate is the same in both recording and streaming in obs and it matches Ableton

You can stream any sound from your DAW. So your interface going into your daw, you can stream the sound yes!!

Hey man great video, got everything up until getting the audio into OBS. Using Ableton and a Scarlett 2i2. The sending/receiving are correct, and the names are the same, but still isn’t picking up a signal inside OBS. The plug in works fine in Ableton, just can’t get it out. Any help?

@Nathan_Bair make sure you have the correct capture aufio input capture vs audio output capture in OBS. Also check that the plugin is on the master in Ableton.

@Nathan_Bair start all over and take the steps slow. Normally it's a step that has been missed that causes it. The plugin doesn't rely on the type of interface or pc. (As long as it's not mac)

@Michael-sd1df in preferences, check the plugin folder. Find where you installed reastream, copy, the .dll file and paste it in this destination. Hope this helps.

Hey man, I followed the steps but somehow Ableton is not sowing me the reastream-standalone plug-in. I have double checked the path which is the same path where I have other plug-ins already installed that do show up on Ableton. Do yo happen to know what coud be causing this issue? Instead of your source being Ableton, set it up as a desktop capture because your DAW is opening a window that OBS isn't recording.

I need help. Downloaded Reastream, installed. it shows up in my plugin list on Cakewalk. Applied to Master Faded. I see my audio signal working. Go to OBS, add a audio capture to sources. go through steps off adding RStream. there is nothin in my drop down menu, and that little box below it that says "close plugin in interface" is not there. i tried copying the .dll to different folders, VST, Cakewalk VST, OBS plugins, i tried so many places i forget where all i tried. still would not show up in that menu. Am i doing something wrong or is something not working? My Reastream does not say "standalone" on it but it was the one at the top of the list. Any help would be appreciated. i need to get OBS working so i can record some tutorial videos next week. i do not need to actually live stream yet. i have bee able to add my phones and tablet as "cameras" and i am getting audio signal from my desktop when i play youtube as a experiment.

@@Buffysbuffet make sure you have installed it in the folder where Ableton is looking. If you have installed it elsewhere, simply find the .dll file and copy paste it into the correct location

@Buffysbuffet copy the path from Ableton, paste it in the file Explorer and double check. If the .dll file is in that folder it should work. Otherwise, you can refresh Ableton vsts and see if that works

@Buffysbuffet are you looking in the correct folder path (vst2) not vst3 location? Make sure your vst2 path is correct. Last option to try, select custom file path on, click browse and locate the folder that its installed in. This should absolutely work.

Listen through Ableton. Turn off monitoring in obs you will have too much delay and it will be impossible to play along

Remove it and set it up again. Sometimes it stops working randomly and I find doing that foxes it. Also, make sure the input device is correct

Everyone is skipping the one part I need help with the most. How in the heck do you move it into Ableton after downloading it?? It isn't showing up anywhere but says it is installed, I've been sitting here scouring my folders, please help

Abletpn has default folders that it looks in. You can also set custom folders for it to search for plugins. My advice is to find the reastream.dll file and where it is installed. Copy and paste it into the file directory that is listed in the Ableton preferences>plugins screen.

I need help 😅😅 i think i busted my plugin 😂 i did this over again and now obs wont pick it up after i messed with the bit rate of my daw. I cant figure out where in the chain i went wrong? Everything is still good i just cant get the audio to obs anymore

Remove the plugin from the master and add it once again. Make sure it's set to send and make note of the name. In OBS, make the plugin is set to receive and the name matches EXACTLY the same as it is in your DAW.
