After using bleach product, make shure you use diluted hydrogen peroxide. A ratio of 1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide to 10 parts water is effective for neutralizing bleach.

Bought a 2002 pontoon with a mercury tracker 40 hp two stroke outboard. Water separator had black mold in it when we test run it mold went into carburetor how do I get it out without over hauling the carb. I changed the separator,gas lines and filter. Now it won’t start.

man those fuel issues are a bitch. 04 yamaha 50 2 stroke has a prime starter electric choke deal that is a dog. and oil injection seems to be way too complicated than just pre mixing. but looks like you got it figured out with that work you did. peace from grove, oklahoma.

So, after seeing this video and fixing my transducer following these instructions my pontoon now reads at full speed. I have a Lowrance Hook5. I will mention your transducer should be mounted on the driver's side of the pontoon. Problem cured. Thank you

I just bought a Helix 7 to attach to my pontoon boat. My pontoon sits in a boat lift and the cradle that the logs rests on sticks out about a foot behind the logs. A transducer can only mount flush with my logs, not hang down below or the transducer hits the bunk when I drive back on. I haven't installed it yet, Will it work flush along the bottom of my toon?

Like your video. I bought a new 90 hp 02 mercury 2 stroke still runs great. I had gray fuel lines on it and they came apart inside an found the way to the carbs. I took them apart and cleaned them. Runs great. I have a 16’ Lowe bass boat but I catfish only It will run about 40 mph. I have about 250 hours on the motor. I run a 12 3/4 - 21 aluminum prop. Take Care and God Bless from Hartford Ky

Never use carb or brake cleaner to start a 2t. You're washing the cylinder walls down and greatly decreasing the life of rings an bearings. Get yourself a good quality spray bottle and use premix to squirt into the carbs.

Just now saw your video....outstanding logic there Mate....just bought a Nissan 9.9hp 2 stroke that hasn't been run for over 6 years and I'm gonna add a can of seaform in the first tank of gas and see what the water looks like coming out after she starts up. I pulled the carb and cleaned it, new fuel pump, Impeller, and spark plugs....Hope mine goes as good as yours....and thank you for the time to make the video....

Gray line may be for "above deck" use. There's black line made for "below deck." However, I don't know for certain that all manufacturers follow that scheme.

Hey bud just a follow up from canada here. So I took out the 14ft fishing boat with a 25hp older 1986 mercury 2 stroke outboard . I fiddled with the screws and choke stuff ect before going on the trip and got to get it to start pretty good as I had previosly installed electric a starter ect ( cant pull on the cord to much anymore AGE you know what I mean )anyway up on the lake same kind of thing again, had to keep cranking with the starter to get it to fire up, when it did and got warmed up ,it ran like a bird, following day same thing lots of cranking then ran like a bird, its a 1986 but looks brand new Ive had it for 30yrs but hardly used it , now retired I use it more often, there cant be too much wrong with it as I mentioned it looks brand new, so I plan to try your method of cleaning with the gum out and sea foam hope it helps thanks for your time to share the info

How do you hot soap the outboard motor?
@bryanbambrick48269 ай бұрын
This is wishful thinking that this magic repair will fix problem - when you run this at speed + load there is a good chance motor will lean out + poss seize as any restriction in carbs (jets / fuel circuits etc can have varnish build up) may not supply fuel requirements. I would be afraid to run like this - do it the right way + remove carbs / fuel pump clean + blow out everything! Power heads or rebuilds are not cheap!

Thanks for sharing. I'm installing a hook triple transducer on my pontoon. Great video.
I used to make my own , but since you can buy 100 for less than $5 , I just buy .

I think that if your gear counting coil messes up timing that the motor will be rev limited to save itself? Otherwise, is it possible that the oil level switch is stuck/bad? I have a new-to-me 1990 140 Suzuki and would love to hear more. I'll check the manual to see what logic is used on those trouble gauges and maybe it will help.
@williambrown2389 ай бұрын
For your hot soak dud you use 1 can of sea foam to a gal of gas? Did you leave your oil mix at 50:1? I have twin Johnson 175's that don't like to idle all the time. Have rebuild all 6 carbs on one of the engines it helped but didn't completely cure it. I'm wondering if the Reed valves might be gummed up too. Boat set for about a year before I got it.

You’re a legend! I have a 50hp Merc that’s giving me very similar issues. I bought the boat off an old guy who did a lot of trout fishing and I suspect he did a lot of slow speed trolling, so I’m hoping the motor is just carboned up. I just ordered a can of that seafoam to give it a try. (It’s hard to get here in Australia). Wish me luck!

How’d ya go mate ?
@officialWWM9 ай бұрын
@@frankfallujah4113 well, turns out I have zero compression in the bottom cylinder :( I think the lower crankcase seal failed and let moisture into the cylinder. I suspect it leaned out and failed. I actually picked up another engine the same that had a siezed gearbox, so I’m in the process of swapping the power heads over. I will be replacing the lower seal before I put it back together 😂
