I am trying to process this, I was watching this thinking Nez seemed a bit off especially on ‘Hangin Round’ but then at the end of the song it’s like someone lit a fire under him, I’ve never heard him belt out lyrics like that, incredible! Glad someone captured it for posterity! I couldn’t help but notice the bemusement when singing “what am I doin hangin round” as if he was questioning it himself or noticing the irony in the lyrics given his history in the 2010’s incarnation of the Monkees, after this period though he seemed to fully embrace it in the final years of his life and found spiritual energy in it.

i am almost 70 - original fan from the tv show. i've seen all 4 monkees in concert MANY times in many configurations over the years -met 3 of them (david, peter & micky). i even saw micky on broadway in aida!

I've always had a crush on Stephanie, I'm a Huge Monkees fan - and every time I see a clip of Peter Tork playing live, I understand more and more why my friend musician Adam Marsland, who used to be opening act for him, says Peter is one of the best live performers he's ever seen. I have that Tork CD that Stephanie was holding up, and "Sea Change" was one of several very good songs on it -- especially the "car song" MGB-GT -- but they always sound best live in concert.

My fiancé and I used to send each other different KZbin videos of music even before we starting dating as were in different states. We continued to do that the entire time we were together. She passed away at age 40 from cancer in January 2023. Tonight I was going through some videos here in YT and missing her so much when this one came up. Not only is it quite possibly my favorite Monkees song, I’m grateful to the poster- the nickname she most Often went by was Sunny13 ❤
