Great video! I agree Hajer, it is a hard decision and a difficult mission in switching from conventional to clean makeup....I've started many, many years ago with my body products and find myself being quite happy with my decision and with my Weleda products. The skincare was a little bit difficult, but I've found products that work for my dry, thin papers skin. The Rose Cream from Dr. Hautschka was already 10 years in my nighttime routine. Now makeup is another story..........I love brands like RMS, Fitglow and PuroBio......but they all include Titanium Dioxide (TD). The lip products category was the first thing I've tried to change. So no TD and RED 6 and 7 in my lip products. Goodbye Fitglow Lip Serums (I don t miss them so much) and RMS Liplights in Bare. I could t find a replacement for my HG RMS Lip Liner in Daytime Nude (so, so sad). Now, for me, switching to more natural products was not a big deal.....I am not a makeup artist like you and I love minimal makeup like no-makeup looks. I admire you!!! My HG Products are still the RMS UncoverUp, Living Luminizer, PuroBio Blush 2 (after years looking for a dupe of my beloved Armani Sheer Blush in Nr. 2 I've found the PuroBio Blush with TD and Mica that I'm keeping for now). II also love a blush from 100% in the colour Chiffon. For lips I adore my Hurraw Black Cherry Lip Balm, 100 % Lip Gloss in Pomegranate Wine and two Lip Glosses from Uoga Uoga (without Titanium Dioxide) in Foxberry and Roseberry. I still try to get a sample from a 100% Pure concealer but they out of stock. This is my experience with cleaner products. For me less is more and my long time health is more important that my bright lips. XOXO :)

I am quite new to the non toxic lifestyle, I'm looking for a powder, a gel for washing the face, an oil for removing make-up and a perfume that are safe. The confusing thing about all this is that a lot of youtubers and tiktokers who allegedly lead a non-toxic lifestyle put all kinds of products under the safe. I thought that kosas and ilia were good(but they have titanium d in it ), but I read in groups that they are not safe, please help, which ones to avoid, how to recognize the right product, and please give me recommendations …ps I live in Croatia and not all brends ship here

Hello dear ! So glad I could help you out! It took me a while to find out that I have hooded eyes too :) 90% of people have hooded eyes, some more than others. But when aging you will notice it even more . But it is nothing we should be ashamed of. Aging and hooded eyes has its own beauty. It is the media that tells us the opposite so we get procedures done :( However I think with makeup we can lift the eyes naturally just to the right extent, no need for any cosmetic procedures :) Feel free to subscribe and stay tuned for more helpful beauty videos :D

parabens aren't as harmful as people say! they are one of the safest products in terms of allergies, and the study you're referring to misses the part that parabens "mimicking" estrogen (they are multitudes less effective than actual estrogen and don't always have to potential to turn into estrogen) doesn't conclude any links between parabens, their estrogen mimics, and breast cancer. it's always important to be wary of what exactly is in our products, but taking studies at face value and citing sources as the ewg (which is notorious for labeling products as dirty despite having no information on formulation or ingredient concentration) can easily allow misinformation to spread

Hello dear thank you for your feedback! :) I understand your point of view and it surprises me to hear that, since all the research I have done it said the opposite. It stated that the long chained Parabens like butyl and propylparabens were linked to stronger estrogenic activity. If Parabens were actually harmless why would the EU ban butyl and propylparaben in non-washable infant cosmetics? I think we have to be aware and update ourselves with the new research about the ingredients we consume/use daily. We have to look for answers on different platforms and think logically. The FDA states that Parabens does not expose the human health to major health issues. It also doe s not ban titanium dioxide in food in the USA, although the EU has taken action in a different way : In the EU the food colorant E171 ( Titanium dioxid ) is banned because it is a carcinogen. So how long should Americans wait until FDA changes their opinion? However I am open-minded and would love to know where you got your information from :) Could you maybe share with me your resources? Thank you in advance.

Hello dear thank you for watching and your feedback. Yes I have been following the website for a few months now to see when they update their stock since nearly every shade of a product is sold out . That is really annoying and I messaged them about it , but they said they will take care of it and let me know. That is true as well, the challenge of how good the new "clean" labeled products are is real. But since the options are so little on the market , I'd say first search on KZbin , then on other websites like blogs on google. I will try to get my hands on a few new lipstick brands as well and update you with a new video. Stay tuned :)

Even on the Mary Kay homepage only the beneficial ingredients ( key ingredients) are pointed out. There is no need for fearmongering. It's an ingredient that's safe to use under 1% concentration.
@hajarbeauty.official
@hajarbeauty.official 5 ай бұрын
It’s not fearmongering . it’s raising awareness . I have all the references of my researches in my description box . Please do your own research too. Yes if you do a quick research on google it will state it is safe . But if you do an in-depth research and think more logically you will understand that this is not “fearmongering”. I think you did not understand my point of view correctly since you probably haven’t watched the video until the end . My research is based on scientific studies and they all state that titanium dioxide should not be inhaled , consumed nor absorbed because it is a carcinogen. On top of titanium dioxide lip products including other makeup products contain iron oxides , lead , parabens, bht, bha, phthalates etc. Those are 100% long proven to have a negative impact on our health . Titanium dioxide is just another toxin on the list that is being used in almost every makeup/ cosmetic product. I understand you , it is hard to believe such facts, because it is hard to stop “consuming”our favourite cosmetic products . When something we love or like is hard to get over with, we look for excuses not to. So we think videos like these which are informative and helpful for consumers because they raise awareness are “fearmongering”( yes they can be scary , because I felt scared too knowing all these scientific proven articles) . But we live in a world where we need to face the truth and stop living in ignorance. Wish you all the best.

Please don’t spread misinformation. I agree fully with keeping the cocktail effect in mind, but words matter. Toxic, carcinogenic etc need to be used carefully. Titanium dioxide is safe for use in cosmetics. If you don’t want to spread fear, perhaps don’t use a biohazard symbol in your thumbnail (also completely irrelevant to your topic). We all make our own choices, preferably sustainable ones, but hopefully you can take another look at all the ingredients you call toxic and stick to science 🫶
@hajarbeauty.official
@hajarbeauty.official 5 ай бұрын
Hello dear , thank you for your feedback . I did not intend to spread fear. I just wanted to raise awareness ..I started my “less toxic” cosmetics journey in the beginning of year . In this video I share the results of my research and my personal thoughts . I have the links of my researches in the description box . I suggest you to make an in depth research too. The thing is if we do apply lip products everyday our entire life I think it makes sense that in addition to all the other scientific proven toxic ingredients that’s also added in lipsticks ( and all the other cosmetics we do use daily ) like iron oxides , lead , parabens, bht, bha, phthalates and more do affect our health in the long run. Just like excess junk food , cigarettes and alcohol does, toxic ingredients can disrupt our hormones , cause immun toxicity and cause cancer . As mentioned fact is that In addition to titanium dioxide our makeup products contain further long proven toxic components like heavy metals , coal tar dyes , parabens , silicones , aluminum, pfas , Sulfates , iron oxides etc. This hazardous mixture of ingredients when “consumed”unintended or come in touch with our mucous membranes definitely impact our health in the long run. I am talking about decades of using those . And no I am not saying that because of the use of toxic cosmetics we are going to end up sick because we can not 100% prove where we got the disease from . I am saying in general the environment we live in is already toxic : our air, water and food is polluted . Our lifestyles aren’t just the healthiest and we use stimulants and smokes of all kinds . On top of that we are all somehow stressed and tired chronically . Now add chemical products like cosmetics and hygiene products on top . What I am trying to say is : let’s control what we can control . The air , water and food production we cannot control. But lifestyle choices like less to none processed food or less toxic makeup or no makeup at all can be a good choice for our body in the long run. Especially makeup is not something we “have to” apply or is vital in any way. So the less of the “less toxic” the better . 😊

I think it's important to point out that we don't know how much is harmful and therefore it's not restricted for makeup products. One of my lip tints reads "...and my contain titanium dioxide,..." Wdym _may contain??_
@hajarbeauty.official
@hajarbeauty.official 5 ай бұрын
Hello dear , thank you so much for watching and your feedback. In the video I discussed the topic "regulations" as well ( starting 03:17 ) . The thing is nobody ( institutes like FDA and EMA) tells us how much titanium dioxide is actually okay to "consume" or "inhale" on a daily basis. They just regulate the allowed amount for that product (food or cosmetics or drugs) . What if we exceed the "regulated "amount just because we not only use lipsticks with titanium dioxide but also powders (facial powders, eyeshadows, mascaras) and maybe sunscreen or foundations with "nano" sized titanium dioxide ( look for the term "nano" next to titanium dioxide as well) on top of each other everyday or often. Then the same day we have some processed foods or junk food with titanium dioxide. If we consider all those factors it really adds up and can harm the body in the long run and cause mutations/ inflammations in the body. Another thing worth mentioning is : it is not only titanium dioxide that is toxic but so many other already known ingredients like aluminum, parabens, sulphates, pfas, bht, bha, talc, iron oxides, silicones, formaldehydes, coal tar, lead and so much more we need to look out for in our everyday products. What made me really focus on titanium dioxide was its level of toxicity and the fact that almost every makeup product I owned contained it. What also is concerning is that many ingredients on the labels are still not studied well. So we might hear some bad or good news ( I doubt) about their impact on our health someday too. :( Back to your question : May contain simply means the manufacturer is not sure whether its products contain that ingredient. Like it is supposed not to be , however it might still contain. It is confusing but most of the time "may" contain means actually contains. Try to remove your lip product when you eat and drink to make sure you do not consume it unconsciously. :) Good luck and please stay tuned for more helpful videos I try my best to make a good research for you and help you on your "healthy" beauty journey. :)
@ann18o96
@ann18o96 5 ай бұрын
@@hajarbeauty.official So you're saying that titanium dioxide is more toxic than others? So you know how harmful it is and for example how much would be bad to consume? Because I found that nobody really knows that. Oh and I forgot that I was talking about the Eu having it banned from food, but not from makeup. So "may contain" is the same like for food when it may come in contact with nuts or something like that? That's good to know thank you!
@hajarbeauty.official
@hajarbeauty.official 5 ай бұрын
@@ann18o96 Thanks for your reply! :) No I am not saying that..I myself am not an expert in this field yet and I am learning something new everyday throughout my research and journey. Based on my research on websites like ewg.org I found out that titanium dioxide is cancerous ( for reference : www.ewg.org/skindeep/ingredients/706561-TITANIUM_DIOXIDE/) and that is concerning to me because I work with makeup everyday ( makeup artist and content creator). What also made me concerned is that EU indeed banned it (called E171) from food but not from cosmetics. So if you think logically it means this ingredient can be so hazardous for the body that it actually should not be in any lip products as well, because we do eat our lipsticks. They state that titanium dioxide is also toxic when inhaled for example in hair sprays but no-one talks about powders (any kind)? We do inhale them. So that is a concerning point too ( that so many of our makeup products that are respirable and consumable do contain titanium dioxide ).According to them (FDA and ema) a small dose here and there is okay..but I think we should not be so careless when it comes to our health. We should also not go crazy and obsess but we should also not underestimate. We should be aware in a "healthy" balanced manner. As I mentioned I personally decided to look for safer options and alternatives and use those in "moderation" and always remember less is always more :) especially when it comes to cosmetics, I think it is manageable. :) BTW yes "may contain" might also mean there was a "cross contamination" with other products that contained that ingredient. So you guessed it correctly.

Thank you for the informative video ❤ I checked my bb cream ingredients and it has titanium dioxide in nano. so what do you recommend I should do?
@hajarbeauty.official
@hajarbeauty.official 5 ай бұрын
Hello dear Ghada! Thank you for your feedback. According to my research Titanium Dioxide Nano-sized is a concern (even in creams and liquids like sunscreen and foundations) as it is so small it can be absorbed by the skin and go into the blood stream. You can check that out on google as well. I would suggest you to stop using that bb cream and switch to a better alternative. In this recent video of me applying makeup on my mother in law you can a preview of what products I am currently using instead ( links are shared in the description box of the video ) : kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpe1foSpfMqejq8 . If you are a fan of BB creams , the brand 100% pure does have a bb cream as well.: www.100percentpure.com/collections/face-makeup/products/bb-cream?variant=3433073246232 This one contains a small amount of titanium dioxide , however in the ingredients it says 'non-nano' . As far the research goes titanium dioxide in creams and foundations is not a health concern as long as it is not nano-sized. However I wanted to be on the safe side so I got the titanium dioxide free foundations by 100% pure instead. Good luck on your clean makeup journey and stay tuned for more helpful tutorials and reviews! Thank you!

Thank you Hajar. It's amazing advice. I steer towards natural skin care because it's affordable and least amount of chemicals. I'll pay attention to make up. Glad to see you as always🌹❣️❤
