I've been watching videos for about three years, maybe 4, and have only poured one time. I appreciate your video presentation so much and I finally feel like I am ready to take a leap into pouring. So glad it showed up on my phone!

I see the holes and I think from my own experience there was still moisture on the plate after wiping it after work and a plastic or glass plate was placed on top. There were air bubbles underneath and they were imprinted. So much for the bubbles. Other damage, I see that you press the various stamp shapes, some of which are sharp-edged or pointed, on very firmly. This causes micro-injuries in which liquid is retained and which become cloudy. Then there is also the possibility that chemicals from the high gloss magazines remain in the micro-injuries and these cloud the plate. If the manufacturer has not informed you of such errors in handling the plate, then they should replace the plate and supply warnings in future. Even if the baby wipes were to blame, this must be stated in the manufacturer's warnings.

I have been trying to find a solution ti this as I am experiencing the exact same issue with my Gel Press gelli plate. I don’t know how to restore mine but reading through the comments I think I will store my gelli plate in the original case without the plastic sheets that come with it😢

One person I watched used crisco oil instead of lubricant. Do you suggest that?

My gelli plate got sticky and it's hard to roll paint on it, the paint slides instead of spreading. Any suggestions?
@Katzenlaufwunder2 ай бұрын
This may be a problem with the roller tool, or too much paint. Perhaps it has stored too much moisture. I improved this by leaving it open for a few hours. I have a self-cast gelatine sheet and am very happy with it.

Thanks for the great video. It helped me a lot. I am puzzled about mud. Is it when several colors mix together and form one large bold of a single color?

Mold
@liesbethjongkind7 ай бұрын
yes I also think the small spots that can be rubbed off are mold (little bacterial colonies) . The big spots (I have those muyself) seem to be caused by trapped airbubbles. I really don't know how to store it without trapping airbubbles

Have you tried baby oil? These plates are made with mineral oil so the baby oil also has mineral oil in it which might help to recondition it. I store my plates in the clamshell case they come in but not using the plastic sheet because the instructions said to discards those sheets after opening the case. I store mine standing up in their cases like a book so the surface has no pressure on it.

Flotrol isn't really a pouring medium. Something cheaper that actually is a pouring medium is Elmer's Glue All and water. Flotrol increases cells
