The study of the real Aleph Bet symbols and what they depicts is the end of "blind belief" or "foundationless faith" & the beginning of knowledge & experience it all for yourself. the real sinai experience.

It’s apparent that Neshama inherited her father’s beautiful voice. I can almost hear Reb Shlomo singing when Neshama sings. I remember my father took our family to a hotel for Passover and Reb Shlomo Carlbach was performing on stage on Chol Hamoed. It may have been a concert for all I recall. At that time, little Neshama was probably about 5 years old and she joined her daddy, singing on stage. I remember that Reb Shlomo asked kids from the audience if they wanted to join him on stage and my father tried to talk my brother and I to go up to sing. Of course we refused. That’s a memory now.

I asked the same question as a young marine in Somalia in 1993, and immediately got my answer "this is the consequence of wrong choice." We forget that 20 million Europeans died as well as 20 million Russians along with another 5 million non-Jews. "Will not forgive G-d" What is the thing that questions the Maker who formed it? Isaiah 49: 18 says, "look up all around you and see: they are ALL assembled, are come to you! As I live declares the Lord. You shall don them like jewels, deck yourself with them like a bride. As for your land laid waste--- You shall soon be crowded with settlers, while destroyers stay far from you. The children you thought you had lost shall yet say in your hearing, this place is too crowded for me...." "...and you will say to yourself, who bore these for me when I was bereaved and barren..."

Moshe Rabbanu had an Epiphany of HaShem on the Mountain which forever changed the direction of his life--many alcoholics have experienced G-d's intervention at AA and there lives are also forever changed! What is the Torah on our hearts if not an Epiphany from HaShem?

I was raised Jewish, was Bar Mitzvah and certainly identify as being Jewish although I'm no longer religiously observant. Why? It's simple really. As I grew and matured and acquired the ability to question, investigate, evaluate, and assess claims and assertions, I concluded that the rather fantastic events described in the biblical narrative are more likely to be works of historical fiction than factual (unless you're inclined to believe a 500 year old man built a zoo boat with two of every animal species on earth as passengers, etc., etc.,). I do not dismiss the idea that the content may be deemed useful to unify a people or be put to use to guide and shape character (Middot) but, to me, using a mythical device is not the only means to shape and build character and were I to do so, I would be faking it (not exactly a principled means by which to cultivate honesty and personal integrity). I wonder if the Rabbi believes all the events described in the biblical narrative are LITERALLY true, or if he is powered by pride of traditions, a sense of responsibility to pass the torch to subsequent generations, or just sees Judaism as a good means to focus on the project of self improvement and repairing a world that is broken (Tikkun Olam). 🤔

To be baffled by stories of the Torah is a common mistake among Jews and non-Jews alike. To understand this divine book, you've to bare in mind that the great Torah has been written to be understood by all people living through different period of the human history. A person who has lived three thousand years ago will have a much more simple life than we do. Therefore, his mental capacity works in different level that ours. It would be like comparing a child mental capacity to an adult. Now let's assume you've children ranging from two to twenty and you wanted to tell a story to be understood by all of them. How would you go about doing that? Most likely you've to bring it down to the level of the two year old, so each of your children will comprehend it thoroughly. In general, I believe it would be wise not to take the words of the holy Torah lightly.

The interview with Dr. Abraham Twerski gives more insight about the faith on God. As a doctor and and as a Rabbi he gained more knowledge on the physical body and is able to heal the broken hand and as a Rabbi he said correctly said that God can defend himself. Also his analogy about the un cut diamond to a lay mind that did not accomplish much is good. Thanks Rabbi.
