That sushi looks hella funny. My dad could teach you to make insanely good sushi. anyways keep going and vlogging ^^ idk if you have any insecurities but i can assure you that you look like a cool funny nice guy on the videos :D

first short grain rice you need to use short grain sushi rice at a 1:1 ratio of rice and water steam for 30-35 minutes sushi rice is then seasoned with SU rice vinegar salt and sugar while still hot get different nori the stuff you had was korean style roasted seasoned seaweed you want japanese sushi nori unseasoned and completey flat like paper

i'd say that looks closer to kimbap than sushi. look pretty good though.

@jaydenyoon9767 now that you say that, it mine as well be kimbap. It’s alright, but it’s pretty plain. I definitely want to try again.

as long you like it brother thats all that matters but if you wanna make sushi closer to what you find at restaraunts, here are some tips Use short grain rice (since you shop at walmart, go to the international section and buy some calrose rice) and please be sure to wash your rice before cooking until it runs clear or else itll be too starchy for you to work with. also in the same aisle, pick up some seasoned rice vinegar to add to your rice once its cooled down a bit. (this help it become more like grains of rice rather than clumpy rice and to give it taste since you said it didnt have any taste to it) these and getting some good sea weed will def help make it feel more like a sushi roll. also another thing i like to do when i dont wanna go all out is getting tysons chicken patties and some cream cheese and making a fake chicken tempura roll out of them. strips of your chicken patty, a line of cream cheese, some matchstick cucumbers and roll.

I’ll be sure to get the short grain rice and seasoned rice vinegar. Now, that I’m back in my college town, there is an Asian market that I haven’t gone to yet, and I heard they have great food there. Also, I didn’t even think of putting cream cheese in it, and I’m obsessed with cream cheese in sushi. I’ll likely go there soon, and pick up the rice and vinegar you mentioned as well as some other things.
