@@leethewarlord I mean, no idea is ever truly original. I’ve just been playing fighting games for years. I like to compare things to things. I highly doubt it’s intentionally pulling from TVC but at the very least it’s a mechanic with a precedent.

I agree for sure that his spt2 isn’t going to remove the debuff for good, just removing it for as long as soul vow is active and unfortunately we don’t have the slightest idea how long it will be active for😭

Been seeing quite a few comments about similarities with characters in this game and Gran Blue fantasy versus, which to me is a great thing!

I might be misremembering but does her awakening increase her attack power? Or is she at a 1 the whole time. With what Owlflame said I can see why her attack would be 1 because she hits so fast and so much that anything higher outside of being awakened would probably be accidentally OP

That’s a good point if awakening is based on multiple factors like time elapsed, damage dealt, and damage received it’s low key a mini strat having a character that doesn’t hit as hard because you could end up getting your awakening way before another character and having an advantage sooner in the game. And yeah I didn’t even think of it in terms of counter attacks like kenpachi’s not being as damaging because of the lower damage dealing characters not stacking as much

@@leethewarlord it says her attack goes up during awakening but i dont put much stock in the stat sheet(i do still like to look at it tho) 1. the stats shown only appear to be pre awakening. 2. idk what starrks sheet would be since i think he goes from being melee to being ranged in awakening (and maybe back to melee if he has reawakening). 3. people tend to misread the stats ie ichigo(bankai) has better stats then ichigo(shikai) so bankai is just better right? nope both ichigos play different one is rushdown the other is more balanced so there stats dont get used in the same way. (its kinda like playing naoto vs playing ragna in blazblue)

@@Azrael0088 I disagree about the stat sheet take and I personally I put a lot of stock in the stat sheet because like we talked about in the discord the defense stat makes a noticeable difference in the amount of health you lose from being attacked and we can directly see how much the range and speed stats effect play style in a lot of the trailers. Starks stat sheet would most likely be whatever he is in base and then changes happen as he goes into awakening form as with other characters (ex. Increase in attack would make the attack stat go up, increase in range would make the range stat go up, etc.) I also don’t think I’m personally misinterpreting the sats either they’re pretty straight forward. A character with a higher attack and higher defense stat would hit harder and take less damage than another character so in that sense, if you value defense and attack the most then that character WOULD be better for you. Plus it says the stats are based on in game data and I don’t think they would lie about that.

@@owlflame You know what I didn’t even think about it like that!! You’re absolutely right, if I had to guess I’d say it either has to do with his “combo potential” or something to do with the debuff slowing you down or maybe a combo of the 2! You just got me a lot more excited to try Kira out

@ I’m pretty sure I know what it is. Any attack with his sword applies stacks for the debuff, and that debuff is a LOT. My guess is 5 soul stocks (which is more than half a health bar) on top of being unblockable. Just like in the manga. He’s done the work. Now all you have to do is sit there and die.

@@owlflame ya he seems like a control character like rukia but like how rukia does low kikon damage and average hp damage kira might do higher kikon damage but less hp damage. kira might have alot of ways to reset the opponent.

So even regular sword attacks or just spiritual pressure sword attacks will build the hit count?

@@leethewarlord i think its any sword attack and SP1 even on block so if the opponent blocks the SP1(at max count) they still get the debuff.

This^^ at a certain point we gotta weigh the importance of who we don’t have vs characters like Rangiku and Kira and PLENTY of character out rank them in terms of importance. Around 50 would be perfect for me honestly

@@leethewarlord Me too, Now that's what I hope, anything less than that, it's going to be kind of sad, because to have a smaller roster and have kira and rangiku, better characters will certainly be left out.
