Hey Paul, I have 2 split drone flutes from High Spirits, a high D and a Twin Redtail Hawk mid G. I used to have a Laughing Crow shotgun style low E but I gave it to a friend because when I ordered it I neglected to tell Richard Maynard that I play left handed so reaching across the drone side to the fairly broad hole spacing on the lower holes on the other side of the flute made it difficult to play. I prefer my drones to have split blocks so I can pull back the drones block a bit. This makes it easier to keep from blowing the drone side into the second octave. Until next time

Very cool! I hear you on the twin blocks. Get more variation 😄 I have a big alternating drone flute from Miguel Medina that is a bear to play since I broke my hand ladt year. Slowly getting the reach qnd function back!

Paul, was that the actual acoustics in the room? sounds as if it was in a castle. Then towards the last minute I can hear something that sounds like a cannon off in the distance. Or someone pounding as if they were hitting with a hammer to set the pace of rowers in a Viking slave ship. How's that for an imagination?? BTW I love your voice , especially for this song!

Hey Paul, I almost never leave the house without my Butch Hall Concert Series G and A. But a few years ago I sent Brent Haines at Woodsounds Flutes some square blanks I cut from lumber from a tree that once grew in the front yard of my brother's and I's boyhood home. Brent and company made twin Low E-4 flutes for me, one of which I gave to my brother and I have the other. I usually take it with me when playing for the congregation at church. One of these days I would love to give you the back story of the tree these two flutes came from. Here's hoping you have a great New Year. Until next time my relative P.S. please don't consider it weird that I call you a relative. Look up, "Mitakuye Oyas'in" on Wikipedia and you'll understand my meaning.

Good morning Paul, Although I can't specifically identify the tune, Silent Night you sound wonderful. I'm currently visiting my stepson. I would get out a flute and try to play along with you but I would wake him up doing so. Maybe later. What's the key of the flute you are playing. Sounds like low D or low E. Hope your day is full of blessings. Until next time

Hey Paul, I saw you on Second Chances tonight. Afterwards I found your KZbin channel. First, Congratulations. Second, please don't let whatever fame that follows ruin your heart-spirit's connection you have with this beautiful instrument. It was September of 2016 during my 59th year walking on Grandmother Earth when our Creator led me to the Indigenous style flute. After blowing my first note that September I haven't missed a day playing since. My stepson, (first wife's son) whom I'm still close to is an Ironworker. His local is on the west coast. His Dad is also an Ironworker, retired. I shared about you being on the program tonight with him and sent him a link to one of your videos. He's impressed. Blessings to you Paul. Until next time my relative Edit; you have a new subscriber.
