I’ve just finished the Shepherd King duology and I loved it! I’ve been meaning to to get into more gothic fantasy books. I’m adding a few of these to my endless tbr Belladonna was a 5 star read for me I need to get round to foxglove and wisteria too

No, not really. It's nice to read it before reading once upon a broken heart, but it's not necessary since all the backstory you need is eventually revealed in the once upon a broken heart trilogy. I would recommend reading caraval first, but if you don't feel like doing that and just want to read once upon a broken heart that's totally fine too
