This all seems amazing, but as a layperson to CREO parametric, how 'smart' do you need to be to use the software as the narrator describes and how long is the learning curve? Many menu's are being used. I'm impressed with the apparent functionality but it seems intimidating.

We believe in you, so you should believe in yourself that you can figure it out! As with most things, the more practice and familiarity you have, the easier it'll be eventually... There are also additional written instructions in the Creo Help Centre: support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/r11.0/usascii/#page/whats_new_pma/smt_unbending_and_flat_pattern.html#

As of now, Creo 11 has been released, but I haven’t seen any significant improvements in the Manufacturing module from PTC. It can be said that PTC is one of the earliest software developers, but up to now, its milling and turning programming.capabilities haven't been optimized compared to other software brands. PTC is still too strict in terms of surface tolerance and doesn’t fully support surface machining. It doesn’t allow for toolpath trimming , and when dealing with complex surfaces, Creo is quite slow. The roughing feature is still quite weak, and it doesn’t retain previously programmed toolpaths, requiring recalculation each time they are revisited." This is my personal opinion after 12 years of using Creo. I hope PTC will continue to succeed and develop even further."

@@NoktarKZbin Yeah I'm making a flow pun. PTC Creo is a 3D Computer-Aided-Design software for mechanical engineers to design products. If you look around where you are now, you'll find stuff that engineers designed in Creo. I'm a marketing employee of PTC, and I market Creo and another great product, @PTC_Mathcad . The only(?) interest we probably have in common is we both like Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. No idea who the music artist Creo is.

Do I need a specific license to use Administration tool or is Illustrate Professional license sufficient? Thanks
@PTC_Creo3 ай бұрын
Here is the response from someone who knows more than I do: "The Creo Illustrate Professional license will be sufficient. Having said that, you will have to actively install it on the workstation targeted to manage the updates for the illustration standards. See chapters About the Administration Tool [ support.ptc.com/help/creo/illustrate/r11.0/en/#page/creo_illustrate/visualization/creo_illustrate_administration_tool/About_the_Administration_Tool.html ] and Installing the Administration Tool [ support.ptc.com/help/creo/illustrate/r11.0/en/#page/creo_illustrate/install_config_guide/Installing_Creo_View_5.html ] in the online help."

I use creo for many years. The thing that I hate the most, holding Ctrl key for multi-selection. It is horrible. I don't see any advantage of this way over other softwares in which click the mouse button helps to select the part and keep it selected for next click. Hope Creo fix this in this version.

Okay... tell me how to make your hole notations parametrically driven AND conform conform to ASME standards so as to allow me to put tolerances on my hole notes rather than redefine a model annotation to look like a hole note. All that time spent defining user parameters only to realize there is no feasible way to translate hole table data to your model annotations.

The Creo code has to be rewritten from scratch. For me, it's a native 2D software adapted to 3D. The CAD engine is outdated and the development progression is minimal and always will be. it's a shame 2024 software is struggling to create a chamfer on multiple, angled surfaces. Stop patching leaky holes on a 100-year-old wooden ship and build a new one, out of steel.

Is there a pattern function in the sketcher?
@PhilKoford6 ай бұрын
I was looking for this comment. I agree! Take some lessons from Solidworks (and potentially others) on this one, Creo, and add some tools to your sketch function. Sketch patterns are a great way to equally space out things like a structural components between two other bodies. I just did it the other day in your software manually by copy/ pasting the profile, adding construction lines between profiles, and then equal constraints to the construction lines. That is a 2 minute task with a pattern function.
