Request: Could you please upload title music from "A Sound of Thunder" (my favourite track) and music from unreleased games like "DIX", "Artifact", "The Fast and the Furious" (Vivendi Universal), "High Heat Major League Baseball 2004" and "Wallace and Gromit in Project Zoo", which you mentioned in your gameography at Spiresound site?

I had this somg downliaded many years ago. I never realized its actually a FAN REMIX?! GREAT JOB

Damn, I've been wondering for almost 20 years who the composer of this soundtrack is. And now I finally find it, after many, many years! This is the soundtrack that instilled in me a love for tracker music (along with music from custom deathmatch maps for Doom2) when I was a little nine-year-old child, and probably determined the fact that I became a musician many years later (because I became a musician only thanks to trackers). Thank you very much! Three questions: 1) Is it possible to download the original .XMs somewhere? 2) Why in the game are slightly different versions of melodies? In particular, Opening Theme in the game is slower + Above Ground Theme at 1:29 is clearly very different from the one in the game (in the game it is much more varied, so I guess “final4” turned out to not be 'final', lol). 3) What synth was used for the choir?
@garlicsaucerАй бұрын
1) No, I never upload my source files online , 2) This is from my archive, and as I've used multiple pc's over the years the archive might just not be 100% accurate with the latest versions. There might be a final6! :) 3) IIRC it was from a Spectrasonics library

Hi! This sounds great, I was wondering what Sample libraries you use, I believe you've commented what hardware you use on your other channel. Just curious. Thanks! I mainly love the guitars you use and I'm wondering where they're from!
@garlicsaucer5 ай бұрын
I use mostly Native Instruments Komplete plugins, Omnisphere 2.5 and East West libraries (a mix / all of them)
@NaviSpeedrunning5 ай бұрын
@@garlicsaucer Thank you for responding! How long have you been using the EastWest libraries? and by chance do you use Ministry of Rock for your Dist. Guitars?

@@NaviSpeedrunning I honestly can't remember. It's been forever, and yes I also use Ministry of Rock.

@@garlicsaucer I'm sorry, I just thought of one more question. Have you ever included your own live recorded samples in any of the games or other projects you've worked on or do you exclusively use sample libraries?

This Golvellius 2 for the MSX-2 system.

Is that famitracker that you're using ? How did you manage to achieve the "choir" effect for all of these songs ? I gotta say it is quite impressive
@garlicsaucer6 ай бұрын
It's madtracker 2, a windows based Fasttracker 2 clone. The choir is just a sampled choir from my synthesizers.

Nice to see another game soundtrack upload from you, these are really high quality! For an early GBA title especially it has some of the best sounding samples and instrumentation, I suppose there was a custom replayer in use for this and Wade Hixton?
@garlicsaucer7 ай бұрын
Yes, we had created our own custom replayer at Engine Software. (Which has also been adopted by/licensed to several other developers)

One of the best themes in the game! I'm curious, what audio engine was used in the game? Was it Krawall or something else? I'd also love to know where are your samples from, too! Love that Amiga vibe the whole soundtrack had!
@garlicsaucer7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! I used (our own) custom developed audio engine (Engine Software). Software mixing up to 8 channels for GBA and about 16 for NDS, depending on available CPU power ofcourse. Samples are sampled from my synths.

Awesome craftsmanship, dude. Those GBA speakers are pulsating from pure, unadulterated, compressed techno glory. Now here's the question. This was in 2004, what are you up to these days? Are you still in the video game music business? I'm just curious to see if you've worked on more games because your composition style is unique.
@garlicsaucer7 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! I'm not a fulltime game composer anymore, but I'm still working on games occasionally. The bulk of my work is in the GBA/NDS/3DS era though
