Since we Habesha people take dna tests, to understand the difference in appearance to other sub-Saharan africans, this result isn’t really helpful. Of course you’re Ethiopian but it’s a fact that ethiopian highlanders especially the Amahara, Tigray and Tigrinya people (semetic language and script) share their history with the ancient south Arabians from the kingdom of Himyar and Saba. Habesha people aren’t native africans at all, they’re heavily mixed with people who flooded in from the Levant and south Arabia, millennia ago.

@@jesseberlinjames wow thank you. I have heard about middle eastern admixture before 3000 years in Ethiopia and Eritrea. But saying that we are mixed currently is absurd because we Identify with nationality, province or ethnicity and language. It's not black and white.
@jesseberlinjames2 жыл бұрын
@@Zeyede_Seyum No we Habesha people identify with our culture - not nationality. The nations you’re talking about are 100 years old, our culture on the other hand is millennia old. We have 9 ethnic groups in Eritrea and 80 in Ethiopia who all have different history - some more related than others. Habesha people, meaning Amhara, Tigray, Tigrinya and Tigre speak semetic languages and write a semetic script, we have a different ancestral history than most of the other ethnic groups. Our script is Ge‘ez which is a language that emerged out of ancient south Arabian, meaning the region of nowadays Yemen, there is many other things that distinguish Habesha people from the true natives of Ethiopia and Eritrea like for example the Kunama.
@Zeyede_Seyum2 жыл бұрын
@@jesseberlinjames after 3000 years we're definitely indigenous
@jesseberlinjames2 жыл бұрын
@@Zeyede_Seyum No, because our ancestors immigrated from outside of africa and stayed homogenous. They didn’t marry outside of their group and still have the same traditions as their ancestors. Native would mean we originate from East-Africa like the Nilotes or other tribes that existed in Eritrea and Ethiopia before Habesha existed, which isn’t the case. Actually Habesha were very tyrannical and enslaved most of the surrounding natives, slavery was abolished only 70 years ago. The Aksumite Empire (eritrea and Ethiopia) we’re the only civilization with a script in Sub-Saharan Africa. You have the Kushite Empire also, but they as we are highly mixed with ancient Egyptians ca.

They base the results off of modern populations, hence why you get 100%. But if you were to look into ancient dna you’d see about half of your dna comes from the Middle East, this is due primarily to a back migration period that occurred thousands of years ago, where a precursor population to the natufians(an ancient people group from the levant) made their way into Africa. Most dna in Northern Africa is from the Middle East and about half of dna in Sudanese Arabs/Nubians, Ethiopians, Eritreans, Djiboutians, and Somalis
