Collingwood Warriors and Carlton SC failed bc they were a quarter-century ahead of their time. If only the one-eyed 'code-wars’ mindset were consigned to the bin of history where IMHO it belongs, we could(rather, *should* )see this happen again in the A-League, albeit w/o any mistakes this time💡🙏

This was Australia and Australian soccer at its finest and best. Australian soccer is now dead. Australia had a very good league called the NSL back then. What would have happened if NSL was still around today with financial support. I miss those days Australia is not the same today and will never return to the glory days.

Back in the day when you had nearly all ethnic clubs. And they probably wondered why no one followed the NSL.

Preston sold the most gifted midfielder to have ever played in Australia(Odzakof) for a measly $23,000. Why not pay him double & keep him for another 3/4 seasons. He gets bums on seats/entertains the crowds. Every time he hits a pass? It usually results in a goal(including this game). These fools don't know how to hold on to once in a generation player. They did the same with Dougie Brown(the deadliest striker to have ever played in Australia)
