In the music industry, especially, in the 90s, men created an environment in hip hop, where women had to overly compete with one another, because only one female could truly be on top, at any given time, AND women had to be co-signed by, and affiliated with men, to be taken seriously. It wasn’t how it is today. Nicki was the last female rapper that came out of that formula, and she had no real competition for years, so, she doesn’t think she has to compete. Whenever you understand it, or not, patriarchy plays a part in women treating each other poorly.
