Honestly that was terrible. Sting didn’t believe a word he was singing and was just playing to the crowd. Andy thought he was at a rock show playing with a different band. Only Stewart looked like he gave a shit, and if he hit those cymbals any harder he’d break his drumsticks midway through the song.

This live is far from the best. The best of the best is the live in frejus.

Can you imagine that some people in that crowd would be like, meh this band is ok, and others would be saying i have just witnessed greatness and 50 years later The Police are still the soundtrack of their life.... So special

My first real live concert was the police in Ahoy Rotterdam. I was 13yo and there were my hero's live.

The only thing that annoys me is every time you put a caption on there. It’s not Sting. It’s the police give Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland their props.

Amazing song through lot's of many beautiful drummer from our times. Whatever Stewart Copeland had been on top of his ways at this moments and he still rest for my part one of the best drummer ever. By the ways he could drive this trio with his strange method to drum and for his différent ways to support the others musiciens on his band. Without him sting, the bass and guitar couldn't be on top. For that lot's of respect for stewart and for his gift to the drummer familly till the years...... Thanks buddy 👍💪👊🙏🥳💥😜🎉

I wish I knew in 1980 that we would never see the type of music again- At 15 , I just thought these rock bands would just be around forever- I mean I don’t think another band will ever come into existence quite like the police- 2025 Looking back- The police was creating magic- Literally the first video I ever saw on M tv was the police- I loved it from the first 4 beats.

Always enjoyed this, it was the first version I ever heard of this great song. The Ball was to raise money for Amnesty International back when they did good work.

Los noto un poco amateurs aún en este recital. ¿Era su primer gira? Alguien que sepa de su historia podría contarla?

This is an example of how a great drummer can carry a really good band...so many police songs are based on the his playing. Not taking anything away from Andy, but...Stewart drives this band.

The nice thing going about this band, is you didn’t have to show up and clap your hands to the beat. Amazing song

so he quit the best band on earth, to go solo.. heard his solo music ?? A VERY, BAD… decision. whether he realizes it, or not… Sting NEEDED… Copeland and Summers… to make great music… no doubt… these two, are two of the absolute best, musicians… on earth

This type of music was part of the early 80s and 70s European music invasion. The Police in particular had a very different sound, and in turn, you can hear a bit of it with today's artists like Bruno Mars
