Tried to enjoy this video & it was great except for the constant movement. Made me extremely dizzy. Only watched until you spoke about bird bistro & felt like It was vertigo. Hope you don’t keep moving like this in the future 😢

This was very interesting, I never thought about feeding my birds anything but seeds mixed with pellets. Thank you for this recipe, I know this is very healthy for my parakeets, keep up the good work🐦

Really nice video, wow, you know so much about all the different kinds of birds, it sounds like you have been studying them for a long time. I am new to your channel and am a bird lover myself. I love your budgie videos, we have six feather babies, all home born, except the mom and dad. I will be looking forward to watching all your video's, keep up the good work🐦

You do so well interacting with your birds! It’s really cool to see you reading their body language and adjusting the pace of your training. I didn’t fully understand the point of touch training but it makes a lot more sense now that I’ve seen you use it to help desensitise them!!!

Thank you so much for this!!! Pet stores try to profit from people thinking these are low maintenance pets but they’re only low maintenance if you neglect them! I had a budgie as a kid and even though I tried to do my best for her it wasn’t enough and I don’t want others or other birds to go through that. Your videos are so important! I asked so many questions when I got my budgie but the pet store’s advice was nowhere near enough and some things they advised (mirrors, bells) were even harmful. When I actually found out the basics of budgie care I told my parents but my dad made fun of me, yelled at me, and refused to let me improve her cage and diet. I tried the best I could, she spent lots of time outside her cage since it was too small and I tried to give her fresh food even though I had to mostly feed her seed. I even helped her learn to walk again after an injury when the vet said they couldn’t do anything (a general vet, not an avian vet). I’d always let her out but she didn’t like being too close to people before her injury, she liked to be near me when I did music practice but she was still very shy. Luckily I didn’t accidentally traumatise her when I had to help her. Through helping her with her injury we became best friends and from then on she would climb all over me. But her lifespan was still cut very short by the inadequate care and no bird deserves that! If I’d known I couldn’t care for her well I wouldn’t have gotten her.

Very useful. I find the Sibley guide requires too much bird knowledge to use for identification purposes..at least for a beginner. The Kaufman guide having a color lookup method seems good for quick identification.

I have 2 new budgies. Can I train them both together?
@davidthebirdguy517
@davidthebirdguy517 5 ай бұрын
You can. However, It will be pretty difficult to train them together as their fear will build off of each others. I would recommend keeping them in separate cages and focusing on the most confident one. Then move onto the other one as it will see that your other bird is already comfortable with you. Having a healthy diet will really help you as well!!!

Sit near the cage and talk to ur feather friend every day. Talk to em like they are are 3-5 years old. Then move ur hand to the cage slowly and try feed em some millet. Make some sounds with ur mouth that they can relate to. Say kissing sounds ect.

Some new ideas about taming Budgies. I loved the idea of taking the food out at night. Also, I think spending and 1-1/2 to 2 hours with your bird gives them some good bonding time. Talking in a calm, low voice also is very good idea.

even after more then a month my budgie hasnt changed in behavior since day 1....refuses to eat millet... tries to fly away in the cage even if you just walk by the cage....no matter how many hours i spend time with her and talk to her and try to give her millet she just sits there and tries to run away from the millet instead of trying to eat it...

Due to a crisis my friend is in-my husband and I agreed to home her parakeet for a short while but it may become permanent. She is a sweet, 1.5 year old yellow Budgie who seems to have never been tamed. Any contact with our hands getting too close results in a bite. We are probably not the best parents for her and not sure what to do.
