Also unintended consequences would be (if earlier and also without the Spanish Inquisition) would be the art and history of the First Nations in the Americas.

Saw your link of FB and came over. The political/religious aspect (which are one in the same then as now) was the main issue of the witch hunts. The widow Bertha Goodwife has some pasture that a neighbor wants to let their sheep graze on why pay her when you can accuse her of being a witch? This isn't to say I don't like your time line. I do like it. Just wanting to add my two cents to it as a suggestion. Religion isn't about helping the poor and being compassionate, it has always been a bout making money and gaining power. I'm not just talking about "mother church" in Rome, the money, corruption, and abuse of power went back to the first lazy con artist who wanting to get out of toiling in the fields. Yeah would agree with education hopefully being more wide spread. The thing is religion would need it's powers lessened for education to be a priority. Looking at the history monasteries and religious schools were the only way to learn to read. Women were forbidden education. The scriptures would need radical editing for women to even be consider human. The scriptures treated women and slaves as property not as people. For something so radical to happen you'd most likely need a female version of Martin Luther to be martyred and for every woman in Europe to "disobey" their husbands in protest without the fear of hell fire. It was also a time when you could beat or rape your wife and it wasn't a crime, it wasn't even seen as immoral or unethical (not saying they were right about it). I think you'd need to go back to the 1st Century CE to have more women involved in the founding of the christian mythos. There were gnostic and other sects which allowed women in leadership roles but they, and other were squashed by "mother church" as heretics and killed.
