I have the same motor, but my problem is when the boat is at TopSpeed it just drops out in the fuel bulb will be super soft. If I hold the fuel bulb and keep pumping it. It runs great at TopSpeed. It also will run fine as long as I don’t get in it on the throttle, do you think it could be the gas tank because it’s a old metal one I put a new fuel bulb in line on it.

Help! My boat runs fine in neutral but when I put it in gear and under a load it bogges down and dies. No power at all. What's wrong?

I did notice the fuel line bulb was vacuuming and kept releasing from the tank to let air in. Hope this was the problem why my Johnson seahorse 55 is intermittently going at top revs/speed. You have much bigger problems, ever see a battery arc out on a steel gas can?

I went through my fuel lines and actually found that it was snapped at some place pretty seriously and i could even hear when i pump the fuel. although the line was disconnected from the engine. I will replace it tomorrow and give it a try. Edit tomorrow with the results.

Glad you found the problem. Be careful with all your wires and the metallic gas tank. You know, fuel gasses and sparks can give you a headacke. Cheers !

Bloody hell I'd be more worried about that rats nest you have around your fuel tank, if that goes up you will have more to worry about than the motor bogging down..

dude you need to isolate your battery from your fuel tank or KABOOM !!!!!!!

I have a 92 150 mercury,, my problem is my motor will crank and run but when i put in gear, it will not take the gas an shut off,, it runs great on the hose, but under a load it bogs out and shuts off

How do you remove that fuel filter (2:49) - I can't twist mine off (won't budge!) and I'm afraid to force it as the housing is plastic.

You have more wires than the space shuttle on top of the gas. That can't be safe.

Geat Video - Well Done Avoid Ethanol fuel at all costs! 1. Older engines were never designed for ethanol fuel - it was not even available. 2. Ethanol can attack hoses and seals on older fuel systems., dissolve fuel hose and create a gummy residue. 3. Ethanol is hygroscopic = It absorbs actually absorbs water in the same way whisky mixes with water - gasoline actually separate from water making it possible to monitor drain water from fuel systems. 4. When I clean fuel tank that have used ethanol, I often notice the residue is a milky liquid - water contamination ???? 4. Galon for Galon it produces less power than gasoline.
