How can I find a therapist like this?
@laurenchapin47603 жыл бұрын
You can look for therapists that specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. When you look at a therapists online profile or speak to them on the phone, ask them if this is one of their primary modalities that they use. You could also search “ACT therapists” and might be able to get a list of them in your area. You could also call your health insurance company to see if they have anybody in your network. Hope this helps!

Don't get the negative comments, seem's to me you did a good job at listening to the client, responding back what they are going through and then asking them to reflect further "how did that make you feel".

What a complete and utter waste of time. Other than regurgitating what the customer has said and saying "sure" has no therapeutic value at all.
@lachlandavey24454 жыл бұрын
Client ... not customer hahahahaha...it isn't Mcdonalds. The more you talk about what you're going through (client), and the less the therapist speaks the better...that's therapy.
@RockDove5212 Жыл бұрын
It may not have been a waste of time for the person talking. He's expressing how he feels and that's helpful. You have to give it time. It's part of a process.

@rasikagodbole55873 жыл бұрын
didn't know length of dress is inversely proportional to the possibility of being a client.
@CalebTalbot172 жыл бұрын
@@rasikagodbole5587 Don’t you mean simply “proportional?” 🤔

No, she is not a "real " client. At the beginning of the video that is explained before the people begin speaking.

Ok I have watched a few of these vids now I am now psych however. I have been to one, and what I have noticed is perhaps there is too much listening.....people need tools to go home with, mindfulness techniques they can walk away with I think the pysch is good but but when it m paying for expertise I want something I can walk away with and use, perhaps I'm wrong and no disrespect to said interviewer , also as someone that's interested in this these vids are great thank you

The Tintin poster on the wall is from a story called "The Blue Lotus" which, I believe, was about opium smuggling among other things. Interesting decoration for a psychotherapist to have on his wall!
