Et sinon, pourquoi on se blesse avec un profil force-vitesse trop déséquilibrer ? Ca voudrais dire que pour courir vite sans blessure il faudrait un muscle fort qui soit capable de supporter les contractions rapides et intense d'un sprint ?
@Mangersainement Жыл бұрын

Hi there, I am using this spreadsheet to calculate theoretical F and V output as well as Pmax for my thesis investigating if reducing the FV imbalance improves driving distance in golf. However, there appears to be issues when using the spreadsheet in certain individuals were the spreadsheet produces some very questionable numbers, mostly for Vo (negative numbers and numbers up to 33m/s). Could you help me understand why this is happening? Is it because some athletes are recreational and not that well trained?
@leonnieder98762 жыл бұрын
You noted the split times are only valid for radar-technology and not timing gates as the split times used with timing gates would overestimate F0 and Pmax. Is there any option to assess the FV-Profile with timing gates?

Hi teacher! First of all, thanks for sharing this spreadsheet. I wanted to ask you, what do the results obtained by the athlete mean? How might these results influence the athlete performance? What do you recommend to the athlete to improve their performance? And lastly and very importantly, I would like to know how the athlete's results are interpreted? No analysis, just talk about the numerical result. Thank you very much, I'll pay attention.

Hi Roy, i'm afraid it will be a problem since several times are needed to form the position-time and then speed-time curve, our data and some studies show that at least 5, 10 and 20m splits are the minimal amount of time points necessary

Hi, excellent job! I would like to know why the RF values starts to show after 0,5s time, and not before
@jbmorin33273 жыл бұрын
thanks ! It is because during the very early acceleration the center of mass rises a little bit from crouched position to upright, so the vertical component of the GRF is not exactly equal to bodyweight over the step cycle. It is the case after 0.3 to 0.5 s . but since the RF-speed curve is then linear this does not influence computations

Hello, In one of your articles: Interpreting Power-Force-Velocity Profiles for Individualized and Specific Training stated that..... "Adding the previously described vertical profiling to this horizontal profiling could help better determine whether a lower HZT-F0 is due to an overall deficit of lower-limb strength (as indicated by a low VTC-Pmax) and/or a deficit in the transfer of this strength in the specific horizontal push-off motion (technical capability)." I am having trouble understanding what is considered a low vertical maximal power output. Can you help clarify? Hope to hear from you soon, Thanks again.
@jbmorin33273 жыл бұрын
Hi David, the idea is that if you know the "non-specific" F0 of the athlete (ie the F0 measured during the squat jump test profile) then you can better interpret a low sprinting F0: typically if you observe a low F0 in sprinting (say 5-6-7 N/kg depending on the sport and level/context) BUT the athlete have a good vertical F0 (say 40 N/kg or more depending on level and context) then you can interpret that as being a weakness in how this good force capability in absolute terms is transferred to sprint-specific force output. If BOTH F0s are low then you know that you'll need to work on BOTH a better maximal force capability AND a better sprint specific force output. This is one reason why even if your focus is sprint acceleration, the jump profile might be an interesting piece of info

Hi Professor! First of all, thanks for sharing this spreadsheet. It's an amazing and very useful tool. I was implementing these equations in MATLAB and I found a contradictory result between my Sfv_opt value and yours. Checking the supplemental digital content from the original article, I noted that in the last part of the equation A12 (Sfv_opt), there is a minus signal, but in this spreadsheet, there is a plus signal. Please, which one is correct?
@jbmorin33273 жыл бұрын
Dear Jose, thank you for your message, yes it should be a plus sign, as in the spreadhseet. As crazy as it seems we sent the final version of the paper with a plus sign in the Appendix equation A12, and the edition process ended up with a minus sign here 😩...so we had to write a comment and erratum on the paper and re-upload the good version...that is now on researchgate.

Do you need this spreadsheet if you have the sprint ap ?
@jbmorin33273 жыл бұрын
theoretically not, inputs and computations are essentially the same. That said, the spreadhseet gives you a more detailed and deeper access to the "instantaneous" data and not only the 8-10 final outputs (as the app does). So my best use is app for video and split times generation and then spreadsheet for data processing and illustration

@jbmorin33274 жыл бұрын
@@rufusweightlifting yes theoretically wind speed if any should be added to the computation of air friction (in the spreadhseet) but we strongly recommend not doing test with head/tail wind if possible. It is however possible to add wind speed to the runnign speed (both in m/s) in the column where air friction is computed, provided ewxact wind speed in the direction of motion is accurately measured
