Fun video, thanks for sharing! Do you edit in iMovie? If so, how did you create the light spots to highlight the deer @13:30? Thanks again!

Good video. Texada looks more open than Vancouver Island. From your standpoint what would you prefer the Hunter you saw do? Meet up with you and discuss a plan to separate? Or move off?
@loopsoutdoors21 күн бұрын
@@JohnWawrysh my ideal would be if he saw me hunting the cut block first he would move off into the next block, I would do the same for anyone else. But can’t always get the ideal thing and sometimes it’s just easier to move yourself

@@loopsoutdoorslast year my hunting buddy and I went through a gate on foot that had a car in front of it. It’s not always another hunter sometimes it’s a hiker, Mushroom Hunter or dog walker so we went into the area. We knew it was a big area so we didn’t think we’d run into him, but ended up seeing him moving silently ahead of us, we turned around and hit another spur and never saw for the rest of the day. I prefer prefer to go unseen and undisturbed, but it’s interesting to hear what other guys think. I’ve heard the best thing to do is to communicate a plan so that you avoid each other but you never know what you’re gonna get from the other person. I’ve had people shooting in my direction. I’ve hiked into the business end of someone’s back woods shooting range too. There have been more and more people living in the wood too. It’s pretty crowded out there.

Great footage and some nice brookies you caught there. How did your drone handle the cold and have you tried landing it in your boat in the summertime?
@loopsoutdoorsАй бұрын
Seems to handle the cold fine. I havnt tried to land it in the boat yet, but I do plan on trying it. I’ve seen some people catch them and I keep meaning to try it. So far when I’ve used it with a boat I’ve just landed it on shore and went and got it.

Just bought a drone and landing on shore sounds like a safe bet until one gets comfortable with the controls.

Great video buddy! You guys did everything right, it was just an unfortunate combination of bad luck, weather fronts and lots of hunting pressure last year during that week. I noticed a lot of my usual spots had people in them too. Good advice at the end, and hopefully we can get you out to the rock again in the future and get you tagged out this time 👊

At approximately 20:50 in the video, you say the words-“ I saw 3 moose, 2 of them were bulls “- what was that dark thing behind you? Looks like it’s about 30 or 40 feet behind you 🤔. Was it just a big log that fell down??

I took my wife on her first bear hunt. This pass fall setting on bait. She was using a Wicked Ridge raider 400 decock crossbow. I had it sighted in with Tooth of The Arrow broadhead. A 100 gr XL head. It blew thru the bear into a metal drum. The blood trail was unreal. On small trees along the trail. All over the ground. Went less than 60 yds. It was a big old boar 400+ pd bear. First day of season 2 bear of the morning. She had it shot by 7:30 am. Our 4x4 4 wheeler. Wouldn't pull it out of the woods. I am planning on going to Idaho or Montana next spring. Putting a new rifle and scope together. My new rifle is a Browning rifle. A Xbolt Hells Canyon Speed Long Range 280AI. Cant decide which scope.
