Man, my friend had a '73 Nitro 340. Was surprised how well that sled scooted along! The rear axle broke whilst we were out on the trails around 30 years ago and finding a replacement even back then was a challenge. We eventually did find a good rear skid and got it back on the snow, but it took a year or two of searching.

How is the Turkey population in this area and are the birds vocal?

I had one of these back in 1978 . My dad bought it used (but not running), and me and my friend got it running at 100%. Had lots of fun on it in Alaska. :)

I paid 350 for this one when I bought it. It ran but needed some work. Biggest thing is the drivers and rear cogs are usually brittle and need replacement and there are limited quantities available. Only way to get them is there are a couple guys that have the molds. I generally buy up every parts sled I can find just to have the parts.

LOVE IT!!! We bought two 1973 Rupp Nitro's new at a dealership in Milwaukee. The first one in the winter of '72 - '73 it was a 295 Nitro and the following year we traded in the 295 for a left over '73 400 Nitro from the same dealership. Man I loved both of them! Thank you for uploading this video, man it brought back so many great memories!
