What's the Herzog brand? What type of locomotive was the 1st Herzog?
@owenthetrainman721918 күн бұрын
Herzog is a contract maintenance of way company, mostly doing ballast work. The first unit was a rebuilt EMD GP38, formerly CSX I believe.

At 0:12, those are a pair of SD9s that work at a grain elevator in Nebraska City along the river. Not sure what the tank is on the ex I&MRL unit however. And nice job pointing out the P4 ACes. I can never notice them on my own.
@844SteamFanАй бұрын
@@owenthetrainman7219 Thanks! And P4 ACes are 8500-8519, BNSF has only 20.

Wish it still had its old horn, at least it still has its bell.
@owenthetrainman7219Ай бұрын
Me as well. Some Colorado foamers snagged it when it was out there last year. Bell still is iconic though.

WHAT??? and you did not call me?? sham..

No, we expected to be in Nebraska for a short time and chase a northbound towards Plattsmouth.

How busy is the UP falls city sub in Nebraska City?
@owenthetrainman7219Ай бұрын
It’s somewhat hit and miss I believe. We were there for multiple hours before any action, though I believe it can be train after train other days.

We have a couple of those Dash 8s here in Bakersfield but our local runs at night so I don't see it often.
@owenthetrainman7219Ай бұрын
That’s unfortunate. We only have a few around here so it’s lucky for us to see them as well.

Oh man I wish I would've known about this, I could've left grand island early to head back to omaha and stop on by. Definitely cool to see a working Steam Crane, among the vintage tractors and 7 1/2 gauge trains!

What became of the Montana Rail Link SD45s and the SD40-2s?
@owenthetrainman72192 ай бұрын
The SD45 was put into storage due to mechanical issues in the early part of this year. To my knowledge, most if not all of the SD40-2s are still operating
