Don't do it. For the same amount in rent find a place that actually has amenities. All you have here is the unit. There's no gym, no pool, they don't even let you use the hose in the back. Theres a vending machine with stale chips, though. The Machine Flats is a place for a single person. Because there are no walls you can hear your roommate watching tv and even using the bathroom. The walls are paper thin. That's IN the unit. You can also hear people's conversations in the hallways, to the sides of you especially and the walking up above. The loft part of most of the units you have to duck so you don't crack your head on the exposed pipes. It's only good for storage so you lose valuable space that you're paying not to use. The grounds are littered with dog feces and the dog owners don't want to pick it up. So if you decide to see the place be sure to watch your step. Matt will clean the grounds of any trash right before you come though. People have had their cars broken into and it was casually dealt with by management. Management and the maintenance crew are very inefficient so don't look to have things addressed or fixed properly. They jerry-rigged the things they were to fix. The most heinous crime was a real crime that made national headlines. There was an 11year old that was traded for drugs by someone who stayed here. They didn't address the problem and never took back the key from the scumbag until sometime later. It was in the news so please look it up. If you can talk to a resident after Matt leaves cause I'm sure he will wait til you pull off to go, ask someone about the place. Oh! They may not respond cause a lot of residents act like the problems don't exist but they're likely the ones that are trashing the place. Good luck!

The property itself is nice. It's not downtown Manahttan nice, but for Cincinnati, I guess it fits the bill of "luxury". It should be noted that the property is not close enough to downtown Cincinnati to be convenient for walking. There are better views in some downtown apartments. The Edgecliff has a decent river view. But for the cost ($3,000+ per month) it is not worth the money. The management company that manages the property (Towne Properties) is absolutely horrific. The management office consists of three women who seem completely lost at all times. If you need anything from the property management, expect to have to chase them down for days and try to catch them during one of the times they aren't out of the office. They frequently close the office door and don't answer when residents knock. All phone calls go straight to voicemail. It wouldn't be so bad if they were actually conducting business, but they have a reputation for being off the grid for personal reasons. The concierge/doorman feature is a hassle. Towne Properties apparently thought it was a good idea to hire a security company (Whelan Security) to provide these services. The only problem is that they have no idea how to be doormen. They treat visitors (and even some residents) like convicts in a prison. If you decide to live here, be sure never to forget your I.D. or your key fob, because you may be locked out indefinitely trying to get past the crack squad of security professionals they hired to guard the front door at all costs. In addition to all of this, there is a ton of drama in the building, and strangely, much of it originates from the building management team. During my time at Edgecliff, I encountered several other residents who refused to even speak with the building management team. One lady, the wife of a famous ex-senator who lives there, claimed that one of the ladies in the building office stole several cartons of expensive wine during the holidays. Several other tenants have complained about the gossip and drama. It seems that if a tenant gets in the Towne Properties doghouse, the women who run the building stop at nothing to blackball that tenant and spread gossip until the tenant is driven out. Last but not least, there is a crazy old man that hangs out in the lobby. He sits on the lobby sofas in his pajamas and other inappropriate dress, spreads newspaper across the floor and reads for hours. If you happen to be passing through the lobby when this man is sitting around, he will corner you and ramble on for hours about various tales of lunacy. He claims to be an ex-Olympic swimmer, and he has no teeth. The police have been called on this man multiple times, and there have been reports that he abuses his elderly mother (who he lives with), but the building management refuses to take any measures to have this man kicked off the property. Take it from somebody who knows this property well, you don't want to live here. There are far better "luxury" apartments and condos available in the area that are nicer, cheaper and come without the drama that Towne Properties creates.
