One thing isn't accurate though: the GP track part of the Nürburgring wasn't done until 1984, so they could never have driven that part at that time

If you think it's bad that he suffered third degree burns, that's just the tip of the iceburg. Niki Lauda also suffered devastating lung damage from inhaling toxic fumes. He was, to put it lightly, bloody lucky to survive.

You had to have balls of steel to drive these cars back then with the crude safety compared to today. The numbers of drivers back then who sadly are no longer with us is a testament to it.

What's up with the janky audio and why are the cars so quiet? These cars were very loud.

Happy 81st Birthday to Arturo Merzario, the man who Niki Lauda said ''"Merzario jumped into the fire and, alone, pulled me out of the wreckage so I survived… he really saved my life there, because a couple of seconds more I would have never made it''

Niki Lauda selbst schreibt in seinem Buch Meine Story von 1985, dass er es für am wahrscheinlichsten hält, dass der rechte hintere Längslenker ausgerissen sei. That's what Niki said.
