Considering these cars are made from 2 cars ,by cutting them in half and cutting them up .im suprised these cars dont split in half considering how much power is put through them . Id be intrested to know how the car has so much strength put back in to it . And the areas the strength is put in to it . .id say the sill's are reinforced for a start some how.

Well, it certainly doesn't feel that way I can tell you! I seem to have to move something, before I can move something, before I can move something else, before I can get on with what I need to. If the S2 rally car didn't live in the garage permanently, it'd be much easier. First would problems I guess. But for sure, I couldn't do it in a single garage space that's for certain.

Impressive work. I'm also doing some welding on my Ur. How do you manage to weld without blowing holes? I'm struggling, particularly on the boot floor.
@sportquattro868 ай бұрын
Cheers man. Yep, it's certainly not easy sometimes. I find I'm blowing holes more when the old piece of metal I'm welding a new piece of metal to has become thinner. All you can do is adjust the welder settings as best you can, and if possible try to point the welding tip slightly towards the new metal. Also, sometimes I think it's worse with heat build-up, so let it cool, adjust the settings, and try again. For sure, it's a right pain in the arse on occasions, and nothing seems to work, and you end up with a massive mountain of weld next to a hole. Grind it back, and have another go...

Just a quick question are the doors same length as lwb quattro as on swb . And does the top Half of the doors do they have to be altered because of the new windscreen angle on the sport from lwb quattro . As its a steeper windscreen angle on the sport
@sportquattro869 ай бұрын
The bottom half of Sport quattro, B2 2-door saloon, UR quattro and B2 coupe quattro doors are all the same. The Sport quattro and B2 2-door saloon have the same upper frame, with the steeper windscreen rake, and are also narrower (top leans in towards the centre of the car). The UR quattro and B2 coupe quattro have the same upper frame, but are different to the SQ/B2 2-door saloon.
