They really need to get those trees and bushes trimmed back. One of those bushes knocked my phone out of my hand the last time I went on that train. They were able to stop the train, and I got my phone back. Those branches gave me, my grandfather, and my friend Josh several cuts and bruises.

I thought they didn't allow people to blow the whistle anymore. When I did my cab ride right after that intense heat wave that kinked part of the tracks at East Chatt, they didn't let me blow the whistle

It usually comes down to the crew that day, how the days going, and if it’s 01, 630 doesn’t have a cord to the whistle on the fireman’s side. And also when 4501’s cord isn’t working, they don’t like letting you use the whistle bar since you get in the way of the engineer

@@eothetrainmaster 4501 probably didn't have the cord that day I did my cab ride. If I remember it correctly, the engineer was using the lever directly

I'm not entirely sure if the K&T 12 Charter is still a thing, you'd have to ask one of the organizers or TVRM about that.

From what I was able to figure out, the K&T 12 photo charter was canceled. They didn’t have enough ticket sales, mainly due to the high cost of the tickets.

I learned this from Travis Gordon, who is a crew member at the TVRM, GM&O 4382 (aka Southern 4501) will also pull the following weekend’s Summerville Steam Special while wearing the GM&O decorations.

It will be 4501 tomorrow. The original plan was to run it as 4382, but due to outside magnets decals had to come off.

I actually kinda dig this scheme, even tho it’s just 4501 with GM&O lettering and numbering, I kinda like it. But if it wasn’t obvious, the plates covering its southern identity need darkened, badly.

@@TheRandomRedRailfan I believe they used vinyls to cover up the Southern 4501 lettering, so when the lighting hits the engine a certain way it's pretty obvious that they covered up stuff, it was a neat one off though!
