The thing that makes older mini games so much more fun is the tendency to remember the good of the past over the bad in the human mind. When this is combined with the simplicity of games like spleef or an old dropper, it allows for short, exciting, fun games that are essentially the essence of childhood for early Minecrafters. I joined Minecraft during the world of color update of 1.12 which was released 6 years ago. I have good memories of older games.
