That's what I keep saying. Cliff used to do some wild, and innovative bass stuff with Metallica. It's not like the band has never done anything to feature the bass prominently in their songs. They could turn him lose on one or two tracks... Hell, it's not like they have some kind of "Thrash Metal only" standard to live up to. They obviously aren't averse to playing different genres of music.

As opposed to that fake band that draws in 150K plus sized live audiences every weekend they're on the road lol. I wish Metallica let Rob out of his box more and Rob's work with I.G. is second to none but come on man. Metallica is who they are and they're lucky to have Rob and Rob is lucky to have them.
