I developed POTS after a CDC positive Lyme test in 2012. I also suffered an ABI as a result of my CSF pressure raising from the doxycycline treatment. It is unknown which caused the POTS. Two years kater, I began to receive SCIg as a result of impaired immune responses to other viruses, bacteria, and fungi (but not due to low IgG). Doctors suspected I had some form of autoimmunity "not yet named or discovered" affecting the autonomic nervous system and brain (in the encephalitis family.) I was on SCIg for 8 years and experienced a partial remission. A near-complete remission from POTS symptoms, 75% reduction in infections and MCAS intolerance, regaining of stamina to the point of being able to work part-time and attend to daily tasks of living. Seizures and brain fog were also greatly reduced. Then my doctor quit and I lost the SCIg. No insurance will approve it. I've been mainly housebound for 5 years trying to manage my symptoms with lifestyle but slowly failing. The SCIg clearly helped in my case and I'm sure IVIG would even moreso, but nobody understood the mechanism of "how," so it was taken away.

It was helpful for me to read your comments as I don’t feel so abnormal about the pain I’m experiencing. I’m 75 and didn’t get the vaccine. I’m in week 2 so I hope to see improvement soon. I did get the antiviral medicine in the early days. My rash is at the waist. My heart goes out to fellow sufferers. I’ve tried cold packs, lidocaine patches, advil2 with Tylenol. All help. I have Lyme . One time my knee swelled that I couldn't even bend 10 degree. After Ultrasound and MRI and d said he doesn't know what it is and how to treat it. I read that antibiotics do not kill Lyme. Lyme spiroshets when they sense antibiotic give up their cell membrane surround themselves with gel and antibiotic cannot access them. They would say "you were treated with antibiotics and didn't;t have symptoms for years" . Dr will give you diagnosis for other debilitating diseases. Most drs are very ignorant about Lyme.

Government should pay restitution or make disability payment to people infected with Lyme. This was government experimentation on Plum Island by German scientist brought to the US on operation Paper Clip . He returned to Germany in late 1870's.

Book "West of Jesus" greatly describe what people go through with Lyme disease. He even put signs on window "no exit". He didn't trust his brain when Lyme was active. I read an article that autopsy of brains of 10 people who died from multiple sclerosis, 8 had Lyme in their brain. Is MS misdiagnosed Lyme?

I started battling shingles 3 1/2 weeks ago. Frist started with pain close to the groin area. But helped move a upright piano the weekend before, so first thought I pulled a groin muscle, but the pain started going around the leg toward the hip. Then a day or so later I noticed fair sized blisters around the waistline. Now, the blisters are gone, and the scabs are 80% gone even, but still have the tingly nerve ending pain. I'm hoping that I get over it soon, think I'm getting better, or just getting used to it. The pain isn't really bad, but real annoying, especially when trying to sleep.
